Lovely site

What a lovely site . Pitches Are very generous , you don't feel squashed on . It is lovely to have a shower where the water is not timed . The toilet block was always very clean as were the washing up facilities. The staff very helpful. It was our first time here , it won't be our last .

An Excellent Site

A very pleasant site with good facilities, although these might be a bit stretched if the site was full with tents as well as caravans. We had a service pitch, which was a very generous size. However, one point to note is that because of the positioning of the combined EHU / water points, there is a 50 percent chance that you will need up to 15 metres of water hose. In 10 years and visits to several all facility sites, we have managed with the standard 8 metre length, so had to purchase an extension.  The weather was very good during our stay and we made full use of it, walking most days. Numerous walks, of moderate difficulty, are available without using the car. Swallow falls is about a 4.5 mile walk, the best route being up the opposite side of the valley to the A5. The view from this side is better and you may even have it to yourself, as we did. Several well marked walks are available in the forestry commission woods  to the north west of the site. It also seemed good for bikes. A short train ride to Pont-y-pant gives a very pleasant 5 mile walk back over the hill to the site. As far as food is concerned we can recommend the Bodnant farm shop which sells lots of local produce. A visit to Bodnant gardens can be combined with calling in for supplies on the way back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Another excellent stay

Another great stay at Riverside - our 4th or 5th over the last 2 years. We had a serviced pitch (number 41), which is a huge pitch, plenty of space to get the caravan, car and awning on the pitch. The pitch was pretty much pan flat too, so pitching is easy. The toilet block was spotlessly clean despite the site being full. There was plenty of pressure on the showers and the water was very warm. The washing up facilities are excellent and kept very clean. The site itself is immaculate with the grass being kept at a short length and hedges/bushes being well managed. All of the staff who we came into contact with were, helpful polite and friendly. I would definitely stop here again without hesitation.

Good location

This site is brilliantly located and well sign-posted, though I am glad we looked on Google Earth, just to make sure of where it was.  Right in the centre of town where one could easily spend a couple of nights mooching about. You can go on a pleasant walk by going out of the back of the site and going via the golf course to town. Our only 'complaint' was that we were not allowed in until about 1pm. This is a site rule, but when we walked around before this time, it was partly empty. This in itself is not a problem but it meant that vans were stacking back in the lane outside the site. Thus, as this is a site rule, I would suggest that if you have a longer unit that you wait until well after this time, as the lane to access the site is narrow in places and there is nowhere to turn around.

Beautiful Site

We have just returned from a 3 night break at Riverside, the pitches were huge and very well maintained as was the rest of the site. Although the railway runs along side the site it didn't spoil our peace and quiet, I think the last train must run about 8.30 pm. Very handy for Betwys y Coed, and lovely walks along the river, and right next to the golf course. Everyone was very helpful and cheerful, we will definately be returning.

no room at the inn!!!

Attempted to book this site by e-mail for 3 nights in July 2015 with over 6 months notice but was advised ,by very prompt reply to ring nearer the time as "short bookings need to fit in with longer stays". All well and good but this does not allow me to put together a touring holiday which could include this site. After my booking request had been declined I trawled through the older reviews to find a prior review which would have told me this may be an issue. Would it not be more honest and less likely to cause unnecessary vexation all round to indicate this policy constraint within the site details rather than leave it for people to post "reviews" in an attempt to avoid others wasting their time and then having to rejig there holiday accordingly?
