Fabulous site

This is our second visit to this site this year and Libby, Paul and their team of hard working assistants haven’t let us down. The team work tirelessly to keep the site clean and tidy, they are all so friendly too. We even enjoyed a little glass of Buck’s Fizz with a Paul to celebrate the Queens Jubilee. The shop which Paul and Libby stock themselves is great for essentials. We loved our fish and chip supper on Friday. We walked into Wickham this weekend for which the site office provides easy to follow instructions. The bbq pack we bought from the shop, supplied by a local butcher was fabulous. We can’t wait to come back in July. Thank you guys for another fab few days away. 👏👏👏👏

Great site as usual

Our local site and never lets us down. Just had our second visit this year. Site in very good condition and tidy as ever. The present team obviously get on very well together and this shows in their pleasant attitude to all and sundry. In our opinion one of the best sites on the network. Thanks to all the team.

Room for improvement

Lovely, typical CaMC site. Poor shop facilities given the location. Helpful staff but if you're going to allow a hot food van on site then make sure the quality is good as the burger van was not. Also the CAMC needs to provide dog free fields as this one does not. Other than that, not too shabby.

Our go-to site as we don’t tour

Our caravan is stored on this site during the season & we stay on site as often as commitments allow. We live at the coast & treat this as our country retreat as for personal reasons we do not travel far but still enjoy our caravanning. You couldn’t ask for a better site, we always feel relaxed as soon as we drive through the woods to reception. There is always a very warm welcome from the very friendly, hard working team. Site managers Libby & Paul are always willing to help with any problem no matter what, magic & just what you need. The facilities are kept very clean & well maintained, the whole site is kept tidy with grass cut regularly. Our dog thoroughly enjoys his runs in the large dog field & also likes the dog stop areas, the extra one added this year is much appreciated. There is a gate into the forest of Bere (gate code from reception) which offers lovely walk especially on those days when it is too warm to walk dogs elsewhere. A very big thank you to all the warden team for all their hard work & help.

A really lovely site

First time at Rookesbury, but definitely not our last. Libby, Paul and Carol just to name a few of the site staff were really friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much for them. An exceedingly clean and peaceful site. Great small dog areas set up all over the site to take our dog for het daily ablutions, plus a great large fenced in dog field for her to run off her energy. Shower/toilet block clean and very modern, with great showers. Had a lovely walk through the woods to the Roebuck pub, instructions provided by site staff at booking in. Small shop for essentials, plus a great locally sourced bbq pack for sale. It is actually our most favourite site we have visited so far. Already booked to go back later in the year.

Friendly & Welcoming

This is an extremely friendly and welcoming site with enough to do in the surrounding area to keep most happy. Decent walks from the site to the local village or pubs and very clean and well kept pitches. Highly recommend this site, as it is in a beautiful part of the country and is quiet enough to have a relaxing break and still get out for some lovely walks in the woods or countryside.

Almost Faultless ... caravanning & Motorhoming at its VERY best

Be aware ... if you have a twin axle, 7m+ caravan, then you will need motor movers to get onto your pitch in busy times. NOT because the pitches are small (they are ALL huge), NOR because the pitches are close together (there is acres between pitched units) but because like many CAMC sites, the internal road is narrow. BUT, in my expereince, if you asked one of the team (expecially Managing Partner 'Paul') I'd bet a years' salary they'd pitch it for you. So that's it ... the closest thing to a 'falut' on this site ... now to the myriad of reasons why you SHOULD add this site to 'that list' of sites to visit in Europe & the UK. Rookesbury Park must be one of the very best and most picturesque of all campsites. Set in a beautiful valley with all of the pitches 'levelled' in a terraced-style main park. They are very large and most have a greass area around them to enjoy too. NOTE: What must be one of the very best, mobile Fish 'n Chip shops visits each Friday evening ... don't miss out on their wide and varied menu, items not only cooked-to-order but, cooked to your specific-order-needs. Plenty of water, grey-waste and bin areas all over the site. Two excpetionally well-kept facilities blocks, a huge play park for kids (actually for adults too with the games they have chosen to have on hire ... boules, a ginat connect4, a badminton court, 5-a-side football pitch and very well-equipped kids play areas with slides, climbing frames, slides etc ... all in a soft floor area. It's exceptional. The campsite is huge and set in the Rookesbury Estate. It's surrounded by Bere Forest which is stunning, has several kilometres of walks and rides, with 2 'Den-Building' areas, many picnic areas a a large adventure playground area. The best bit? The campsite has a private-access gate (pin-code needed) into the forest giving access after 8pm which is when the main forest car park closes and thus the general public leaves. It's a beautiful additional (and FREE) facility to the campsite that has to be experienced to fully appreciate. There is also a beautiful, large dog-walk area. The vast grounds within the Rookesbury Park are wonderfully kept, Paul, Libby and their team work tirelessly to ensure they are kept that way. The site shop is brilliant; frozen and fresh bread, all essentials (even marmite!), stacks of choice in the ice cream cabinet, calor gas, local farm supplied BBQ packs and much more. There's even a large visitor car park. The team are friendly, happy, always ready for a chat, so helpful (even with caravan breakdowns, just about anything they could help customers with, they do and they do it with a genuine smile on their faces. If you are a member of CAMC then this is 'MUST-visit' site, if you're not a member, this is a MUST-visit site, and if you don't have a caravan or motorhome, then this site is your reason to get one. To the CAMC Board of Directors ... you're missing atrick not having this site open all year.

Easter Visit 2022

We have had the most fantastic stay this Easter 2022, we where met with a great friendly welcome, had a choice of great pitches, the shower and toilet block was spotless as was all the other facilities. A lovely friendly staffed well-stocked shop. Fish and chip van came to site, yum yum. Beautiful woods next to the site, to have a good walk. The best club site we have been to on our caravan adventures, will definitely be back time and time again. Very happy campers

Staff were brilliant and we regularly use this location

I have a disability and staff were able to put us on a fully serviced pitch which was vacant. They assisted with a move we had to do later and also with a gas bottle connector problem. Cannot praise them highly enough. The changes to the washroom schedule (now afternoon) is much appreciated and i hope will be done on many more sites. Only downside is the wifi and mobile signals which are poor, but we are after all on a quiet site in beautiful countryside. Only site improvement needed would be the wifi.
