Favourite site......But!!!!!!

Just returned home after 12 most enjoyable days at Silverbank . Wardens as always doing great job keeping site in pristine condition. Only downside is toilet block although kept spotless it has outlived its lifespan considering the price now being charged by club (over £300 for stay) same goes for Wi-Fi charge, time it was free on all sites. So come on club time to upgrade facilities at one of your best sites in Scotland

A nice site for a couple of nights

We stayed 2 nights Friday/Saturday. All pitches are the same size, superbly level and the site is well laid out with a nice open feel. The site grounds are well cared for and the dog exercise area is a good size too. The shower and toilet block is small and out of date, loose loo seats, horrible tiles are all a bit shabby, it is however kept clean. Only 3 showers for women isn’t adequate for the site, 1 hairdryer is definitely not enough. This site has no play area for children so children are playing ball in the centre grass area, riding bikes and scooters around the site road to occupy themselves, I would suggest either make the site adults only or give the children a play area as they are annoying when left to roam the whole site especially when they cause the tethered dogs to bark. The location is nice, perhaps a little noisy when the sawmill is operating next door which must include a Saturday. Perfect site for a short stopover,

Shame about the wifi

We stayed here for a couple of days last week for the first time and liked it so much we booked a further week. Site is spotless although toilet block too small and really in need of an upgrade. Lots of praise to the wardens! Great place for walking along the river, Scolty Hill or in the grounds of the National Trust property just past Tesco’s. Site supposedly has a Gold Wi-Fi rating (speeds of between 25 and 100 mps). However my experience was it’s subject to frequent drop-outs and is it’s very slow even at 6am): I measured download speed at less than 1 mps which makes it just about the slowest I’ve seen in the club. Won’t stop us from returning though.

Mayday weekend break.

Lovely site, spacious pitches , excellent location with lots to do in the area. Very friendly wardens. We have been coming here for a few years now but would like to say how disappointed we were with certain dog owners who seem to think it is acceptable to allow their dogs , whilst walking around the site , using their long leads to allow their dogs to foul and urinate on the grass right beside our pitch. Caravan club take note ! Unacceptable! Most dog owners are very responsible and keep their dogs on a short lead . Perhaps it is new members who are unaware of how awful this is. I suggest when members check in that if they have dogs they are reminded about this along with the 5mph speed limit which we witnessed as also being ignored by some drivers . Sadly at one point during the weekend the toilets too had run out of toilet paper and some people had not left them as they would have wanted to find them. This site is so lovely and friendly and we will return as we really like it here but I would suggest that the wardens need to be more observant around the site in order to keep up the high standard it normally has.

Well kept site

We have just spent our second weekend at this site. It is a well kept site that is clean and tidy. The wardens are also very friendly. It was full when we were there and got the last two pitches to choose from but it was very quiet on the site, the only negative thing is the road noise but after a while you get used to it. We live in the hills and so we notice noise more than some. It is handy for petrol and supermarkets with Tesco 5 mins down the road and Morrisons the other way. We will certainly go back

Caravanner Holiday Boy

This is a very good site for a relaxing break. Its is kept exceptionally clean and tidy. There is a bit of noise from the main road (A 93) but after the first night you get used to it. A bit of a walk form the town if you don't want to use the car. Great routes for walking the dogs that are nice and clean. Morrisons & Tesco's nearby so convenient for any groceries required. Only noticed that it being a 'Members Only' site that the members failed to adhere to the 5 MPH limit. Some of the members arriving appeared to be in a race to get a pitch and numerous were walking through pitches heading to the toilets rather than walk round the road. I think this was very bad manners. Members should know better.

Silverbank Caravan Site Banchory

This is a lovely small site. Wardens were friendly and helpful. With in a 10 to 15 minute walk to town along with some lovely walks along the river. No play area for children so not a good family site. The wife, dogs and I will be back.

Lovely stay

This was our first time on this site and not disappointed, lovely site, wardens really helpful and friendly, facilities spotless. Tesco less than 10 minute walk in one direction and Morriston less than 15 in the other. Good places in the town to eat and if like us you have a dog some are dog friendly. All in all a great stay and we will be back.

Silverbank Banchory

A nice well kept small site with spacious fairly level pitches. The open green area in the middle is attractive however this was marred on our stay by a neighbour using it as a dog walk for his three small dogs. There was an on site dog walk just yards away. There is access to the river Dee adjacent to the site with miles of walking and cycling available. We walked to Banchory, a good half hour away. The site was a little too far out from town for us to consider using the site again, using a car or public transport, (there is a bus stop outside the site) makes things easier. There is a taxi rank by Smith's in town and we found a Best Western hotel doing a good Sunday carvery. Nice site but not for us.
