Without question the best CC site we have ever stayed on. Lovely, friendly wardens, immaculately kept with excellent facilities. Very cleverly, the children's play area (which is great, would have loved a go on some of the equipment) is away from the main part of the site - happy children, happy non-children people. We found the location very good for visiting the island. The fields are broken up by huge hedges which make smaller 'rooms'. This breaks up the wind and also makes a big site quite intimate. There is a lot of hedge cutting/grass mowing and it can be a bit noisy - but the site is just immaculate so I think you just need to tolerate this. The wardens are very good at swiftly dealing with, shall we say, anti social behaviour (dealt with quickly = end of problem). If only we could have dealt with the horrible barking dog behind us so easily (some dog owners are astoundingly stupid - but enough of that now). We tackled the slightly perilous walk to the pub (nice beer, very boaty). Then we sussed it. Go to the far right hand end of the hard standing area, there is a gate, walk down the side of a bungalow, turn right onto the road and voila - pavement the rest of the way to the pub plus a shorter walk. We had a fantastic stay, despite the weather and would certainly return. Well done those wardens for such a beautiful site.Â
