Handy site but car orientated

Stayed in August for a couple of nights. Very nice site, some road noise at one end but not excessive. Country park is walkable to but lack of pavements to Trago Mills and elsewhere limited us a bit with a motorhome. Dog walk area is excellent! No loo block but not an issue for us. It was chip van night so we waited in anticipation. They were dry and tasteless and overcooked alas. Mr Chippy needs a trip to Whitby to see what he is aiming for..otherwise a decent stay.

STOVER

This is an ideal site if you wish to break your journey into Cornwall - 2 minutes off the A38. There are lots of tall trees in and around the site - fine if you like the shade from our "blazing" sun, but seemed a bit claustrophobic to me. Park in the middle (or eastwards from the middle) of the site to avoid the traffic noise from the A382 - especially during peak periods during the day and evening!

Easy access

Very easy site to get to. Lovely clean and tidy site, well kept gardens. Lots of road noise. Avoid the fish and chips, they are pre-cooked,  in other words they were frozen. Not nice at all !

Only walk to Trago mills via the golf course, do not attempt to walk the road way, there is no footpath and traffic is thrashing past, no cycle path either

Wonderful Wardens!!!!

My partner is severely disabled ... caravanning is the only possible way for us  to continue to have holidays. From beginning to end of our stay, Pete & Kath were helpful, supportive and so very kind. They made our holiday!! Their help was vital, they went above and beyond normal Warden duties to make sure our stay was comfortable and safe for my partner. Help was given freely and with smiles. We love Stover and have caravanned here for 30 years, Wardens make or break a site...Kath and Pete certainly make this  site for us.

Lovely peaceful low cost site for those happy to use own on board van facilities.

A great value site for overnight stops on route to Cornwall and longer stays. Close to lovely Dartmoor, Newton Abbott great markets of all sorts, a cinema and the famous institution and award winning Cider Bar. Excellent rail links to Exeter and Penzance, from Newton Abbott GW Railway.

Quiet and convenient for Trago Mills

A nice site, quiet and peaceful, considering its proximity to the main road. Very handy for Trago Mills. Toilet /shower facilities would be nice but not a necessity. With it so close to the road the addition of a security barrier would stop the odd car or two driving around.  Due to the amount of trees receiving a satellite reception is non-existent!! I do love my sky telly. Would love to see the site open all year.

Quiet and well located site

My wife and I have been using this site for the last 4 years with no complaints but this year we now find we have to leave a tag on our departure at the gate which seemed an unnecessary task, it's not as though there are hundreds of pitches to manage. We did forget to leave our tag, having busied ourselves on emptiying waste water and rubbish in relevant bins, however we had gone shopping at the nearby Trago and noticed tag then. We returned to the site and deposited tag but had I been travelling any distance we wouldn't have bothered. What would have been the penalty for not returning a tag with no useful purpose?

Probably our Favourite site

Occasional noise from idiots 'burning rubber' on the adjacent roundabout does not spoil our enjoyment of this site and the adjacent Country Park. We have no need of a toilet block and the associated facilities of many larger sites but we do wish it would be open all year round.
