A Lovely market town

We had a lovely stay over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and were very lucky with the weather too. The site is small but well maintained. A large number of the pitches are adjacent to the road so there is some road noise but not bad enough to spoil our stay. We didn't try walking into Barnard Castle centre as it was a fair walk and there aren't any proper pavements so we used the car instead. The small town has a wide variety of eating places and pubs. The Golden Lion is the oldest with plenty of character and Sunday lunch at the Three Horse Shoes was delicious. There are lots of lovely Northumbrian villages nearby that are worth a visit. High Force Falls was spectacular. I think we've found ourselves another favourite site!
