Very nice site

The Thetford Caravan Site  My wife and I have stayed at this site three times this year. The site is very clean and peaceful.  Lots of long walks, good for dogs, and beautiful scenery.

Lovely Weekend

Lovely setting, and peaceful time away would definitely stay again.  Only negative is we were told on arrival that they closed at 16:30hrs but it did not say anything on the website.  Warden was there when we arrived but made a point of telling us even though we booked to arrive between 1600 & 1800hrs. Would not let it stop us going again though.

Great Night

Second time we have stopped here, second time we have found it great. We only were there for 24 hours but it was so nice, yes there were children unlike last time but they stayed away from us.  Wardens were kinda relaxed about things but not negligent. Left my loo chemistry on the side of the chemical loo cleaning place(doh)

Short break away

Just return from this site, had a good time until families arrived. Kids were left to cycle up and down the road without supervision.  We thought that wardens would control this situation but seemed not to worry about this.

long weekend

Hi we have just returned from a long weekend break at Thetford forest and would like to comment: We have visited this site many times and have had great weekends there but due to the inconsiderate parents that parked next to us spoilt the whole stay. whilst this is no reflection of the site we did decide to end the trip early and head for home. we enjoy the site for the great walks we take our dogs on and is well set out. The reason for leaving early was the children on the pitch next to us were still heard screaming and playing at nearly 1.00am each night while the adults just continued to drink. we went out the following day and on our return found mud all over my car and van where they had been digging holes and making mud pies. I think the point I am trying to make is for kids there is not a lot to do at this site and a great addition would be a play park to take them away and do something and the second point is more for the parents ie the children are yours and you should not expect them to look after themselves while you spend the entire time drinking, take some responsibility. This would in no way stop me going back as it is pot luck who your neighbours are.

Thetford forest

A well laid out site with friendly wardens, well sited for long walks in the forest and with plenty of opportunities to spot the local wildlife, including Muntjac, Squirrels by the handfull, and the highlight of the bird spots being Nightjar about 5 mins walk from the site. Generally the site is quiet, however there is an army training ground just over the road, and while we were there we had quite a bit of helicopter and troop transport activity on a couple of nights.

A peaceful natural site with good access.

We have just returned from this site after an 8 night stop and have to say what a lovely peaceful natural site this is. The site is one of the best club sites we have stayed on and having no toilet blocks is a bonus for us as we always use our own caravan washroom and feel we normally pay for facilities we don't use. Situated within the trees (which do not block all the sun) it's a peaceful haven - wild birds and deer are common on site. It's also well situated for touring the local area. Nice friendly welcome from the wardens as well - we hope to be back ASAP.

Another great long weekend

Just returned from an enjoyable peaceful weekend at Thetford Forest. Helpful wardens, well presented site, level pitches (well 52 was) and the feeling of an oasis from the maddening world. Do not be put of by no toilet block. FYI - easy tow for caravanners and good MWP for Motorhomers. Enjoy........

Rural in the nicest way

This wasn't by any means our first visit to this out of the way site, close to the attractions of Thetford Forest. We keep going back for the good reason that it is clean, tidy and well located for woodland walks and interesting cycling. If you enjoy wooded tranquility, wildlife and don't depend on campsite ablutions and toilets, then this site will make a good choice - and it's reasonably priced too.

New caravan shake down

Bought a new caravan and needed somewhere to go to get use to all the technical gizmos that come with modern vans. Chose Thetford Forest for proximity and the peace and quiet of the forest. Site was lovely with nice wide pitches surrounded by woodland with lots of wildlife including muntjac deer wandering through the site. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. However, I would not describe the site as quiet and peaceful as the handbook states. During our stay (3 nights at end of April 2016), there was considerable aircraft noise, presumably from local air force bases. Having said this, it did not spoil our stay and would certainly return.
