Outstanding views

Wow... What an amazing site.. on arrival we was greeted by a lovely guy who told us to park up go in office get a tube and go pick a pitch.. the ladies Jackie and Nikki were do friendly..tbh that was so good to do.. after picking pitch we could go to it.. here if you wanted to change pitches you could .. better views on certain pitches .. we were in 56 an 57 right on the front was leaving the next day so we did move.. the site is overlooking an amazing cove. We walked from the site to tintagel.. which yes was very hilly but omg the sites are so worth it.. we saw the castle ruins but knowin it cost 23.00:each to go there we decided against it and looked at it from the amazing hotel opposite. We walked from there into tintagel wow lots of pubs, shops, tea rooms, etc we then walked thru the village for a bit and came to a tea room so we sat and had a drink there before heading back to the site ..and row the sunsets were amazing every night . While there over our few days we visited bocastle, port Isaac and another place which had a beach and a shopping town with varied shops etc The site itself was immaculate the bin areas cleaned constantly.. On the last morning of leaving we finally got to see the dolphins swimming in the cove.. made my day ... Now the bad points . The last 15mins drive is a nightmare.. the lanes are so not made for caravans.. please take note use the directions given on the actually caravan site that are given at the bottom.. We will be back tho but for longer..

Lovely August Holiday... Just a few downsides.

We've just had a lovely August holiday at Trewethett Farm Club Site. We got through good and poor weather and two storms! We did get out and about visiting local places of interest too. We found the staff there were amazing at the work they do. Including extra work from bored children having their fun while their parents don't know what their children are doing. Unfortunately the Men's toilet cubicles had lots of toilet paper thrown over the floor and in nearly every cubicle. This happened on a few nights we were there. The ladies block was not trashed. We feel there needs to be cameras placed outside the ladies and gents toilets so culprits doing this could be noted and given a talking to. There possibly needs to have big signs saying no ball games etc. Children were not playing in the children's play area and their ball became lodged under our caravan. We did manage to get it out eventually and give it back to the waiting children. Heaven forbid if they had got sticks and tried themselves... it could have damaged our motormover! Other than that we really enjoyed Trewethett Farm. The staff there were very helpful. We saw them cleaning the Information room when that had been trashed too by the children the night before. We witnessed it all. We will stay here again, just probably not in August! Thank you to the staff at Trewethett who do an amazing job under the circumstances. You do this site a credit with people arriving early (one at 11am!!!) Also for the extra cleaning you do after badly behaved children have their fun with no parents in site!

Marked change from previous visits

We have visited this site many times and never been disappointed until now. Draconian enforcement of arrival time so don't arrive early by even 5 minutes! Two female wardens, one very friendly and helpful, the other abrupt to say the least. Office hardly ever open compared to previous years and no shop for basics. Loads of dogs as usual (not everyone a fan!). Don't have a dog if you're not prepared to pick up poo!

Another visit but some changes from the 'norm'

A return visit to this site & so we were aware of the way to approach this site (B3266 from Camelford, as per directions). In the past, we have followed the SATNAV directions & regretted it. Arrival was well organised (at 13:10 there were 5 units ahead of us) and a pitch was secured with great viewing in a few minutes. First interaction with the reception was 'functional' at best and I was surprised to see no shop at all (which means NO milk, bread, butter and Calor Gas on site). I understand that the choice to provide a shop is down to the wardens but every other time I have been here there has been a very reasonable selection. Your alternatives are Tintagel (if you need gas the Hardware store stocks some or the bp filling station in Camelford has a supply) or Boscastle. I was struck by how often the reception was closed (6 wardens on the site list) so make a note of the opening times. Wardens were busy and only one seemed to want to interact with members - may be that was just me! So, all the usual breathtaking views and great walks along the coastal path but some rough weather. my advice - bring what foodstuffs you need for the initial part of your stay, check your gas and bring storm straps

Do Your Research!!

On reading the reviews Initially this looked like a very good site to visit over looking the sea but this is a site located right on the top of a hill between 2 villages with very steep roads and sharp bends to negotiate, which on leaving makes the access out quite daunting to novice caravaners as it is all uphill and in Boscastle there is a sharp turn which if traffic is coming down makes the road quite tight. No mention of these steep hills anywhere that I could find in previous reviews. The site its self is more geared to adults as there is no facilities close for young families unless they like watching the rabbits ( enjoyable to watch though ) There is nothing nearby to do on an evening if you wanted to get away from the site unless you drive 2 miles either way. Pizza van on a Thursday was the highlight. Lack of basics at the reception ( small shop). I cannot knock the cleanliness of the showers/toilets etc and never a shortage of hot water although careful where you pitch as it can be a fair walk to the shower block. Also as the site is quite open if the weather turns as it did whilst we were there you may not be able to erect your awning as the wind and rain is very strong. One fellow caravaner's awning uprooted and was nearly lost. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. They maintained the piches and servcie areas. Although we had a nice time we would not have gone in the first place and would not be looking to go again mainly because of the access issues.

Away from the hustle and bustle.

A lovely positioned site overlooking the dramatic coastline of North Cornwall. The pitches are mainly flat and spacious on tiered levels. The main attraction for this site is the tranquil nature and the walks around the locality. One thing to realise is that the nearest shops are a good walk from the site, especially if via coast path. The facilities that are on site are kept clean and in good order by the staff who are friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the lack of a shop selling basic items.

So relaxing…beautiful

This site has everything to offer including amazing sea views wherever you pitch yourself. The staff are friendly are helpful, they seem to really want you to enjoy your stay. Plenty to do locally including some incredible walks (which can be challenging). Make sure you stay for long enough, a few days just doesn’t offer enough time to really enjoy this wonderful place.

Fabulous views!

Plenty of space between pitches, and fabulous views! I loved the amazing coastal walks to Boscastle and Tintagel. Good facilities. The only slight negative is the nearest shop you have to travel to. I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely book again.

Wonderful views and walks

As you pull into the site the view is spectacular and there are quite a few pitches with great views. The staff are helpful and friendly upon arrival. The coastal path can be accessed directly from the site and provides quite a work out, walking sticks would be of benefit. There are a few eating places in Tintagel, it is a good 45 minutes walk along a very hilly road from the site. We walked to Tintagel along the coastal path enjoying the views, had a wonderful cream tea in the town and ideally would have liked a taxi back but ended up walking. We were travelling as a couple but I didn't see much for kids to do if you were travelling as a family. We might not visit this site again as there isn't too much to go in the surrounding area, but it is definitely worth a visit just to sit and admire at the view (when the sea fret isn't in).

Breathtaking views

Breathtaking views, clean facilities, good pitches - this site has all you need. Perfect start for some nice walks on the coastal path to Tintagel or Bothcastle. Please note: there isn´t any shop or restaurant on the site
