What a long site!

A strangely elongated site but with great views. The upper end is all grass pitches, which are very nice but an awfully long way from the facilities. If you need those best to try and get a hardstanding which are closer, but it's a popular site and you'd need to book well ahead. There are spotless mobile showers (very hot and like mini saunas) but only one (immaculate) M and F toilet for the upper areas. Wifi much better at the lower end. No DAB radio and TV poor (at least with my very basic van ariel). I visited early July and what a cold wind comes off the sea! But the walks off the site are excellent - the lovely St Nectans glen & Rocky Valley, Tintagel and Boscastle. Take sticks if you need them - there are hard ascents and descents on the rocky headlands.

Another good stay at Trewethett Farm - but be aware of the changed advice on how to access this location.

Firstly and most importantly check the route information to access the site. The A39 at Camelford is completely closed to all traffic at the moment and an alternative (narrower) entry route is now on the website. On the whole, it is ok for access but there is a narrow bit as you turn by the transmitter (as per stated directions) that you’ll need to be aware of, esp as diverted HGVs are also using that route. The site seemed to be better kept than in some previous years and everything seemed to be neat and in order. The grass field looked particularly good. Some new Portakabin showers have definitely improved the top block shower area. The staff are all friendly and helpful and manage to do their jobs unobtrusively. Well done! The showers in the main block need updating- the controls are so worn the temperature indicator has no bearing on the outlet temperature but, once you get the hang of each individual unit, it is less of an issue. We had a lot of rain during our stay. On our pitch, the rain ran off the awning and turned the pegged area to a wet cement consistency (and so the pegs lifted in the wind). I ended up using a combination of yellow plastic ‘grass’ pegs (yes the hardstanding was that soft) and long heavy-duty pegs. So my advice is to carry a variety if the weather is forecast to be inclement.

Fabulous one of the best

This is a truly wonderful site in an amazing location. The facilities are spotless . The staff are wonderful. They were more than helpful when I asked for a pitch nearer the shower block..due to a recent hip replacement...we didnt realise the site was so big . They are all so friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Even on a very busy arrival day they were smiling and helping everyone get through the system and onto a pitch. Well done Trewethet and thank you for a lovely few days.

Fantastic site

We last came in 2021, hoping to visit Tintagel Castle but unfortunately, storm Evert put a stop to that. It couldn't have been more different this time, the weather was beautiful and we had a brilliant few days at Trewethett Farm. One day, we walked to Boscastle, the second day to Tintagel, both walks are quite challenging in places as it's the south west coastal path, but just stunning scenery. Both days we got the bus back, which stops very close to the site entrance. The site itself is a great location and we had amazing views and sunsets. The wardens were lovely and very welcoming, good facilities on site. We would definitely recommend staying here but be prepared for ever changing weather conditions.

Top Notch

I can only reiterate what others have said - a beautifully maintained site in a superb location. Really friendly wardens who work very hard to keep it in tip top condition. If you decide to take the SWCP to Boscastle it is probably nearer to 2.6 miles than the signposted 2 and a return journey clocked up over a 1000 feet of ascent. I only mention this as we watched a lot of people setting off in flip flops and other unsuitable footwear - walking shoes/boots are recommended. You can get a bus back - it will stop at the site entrance on request. But the views and the sunsets are amazing. Enjoy.

Fabulous Site

We stayed here for a few nights in June, the location is amazing but you are slightly exposed to the elements. We were in the top field area that seemed a bit less busy than the lower parts of the site. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff we saw were welcoming and friendly. My one tip if travelling with little ones is to use showers in the main block as the water in the upper port a cabin showers was scalding hot. Great access to the coast path with walks to Boscastle and Tintagel, but beware these paths are very steep in places with a lot of slate steps that can be slippery. The views are stunning so it’s well worth the walk. You can cut up to Bosinney and walk on the pavement after getting through Rocky Valley if you prefer a less arduous route. Will definitely be back!

Large pitches, really friendly staff and amazing location right on the South West Coastal Path. Spent a lovely few days walking and enjoying the sunsets.

Great site and location for walking and relaxing

Great site. Excellent friendly staff who always have a smile and a wave. Fantastic location for walking the coastal paths. Very exposed to the elements but rewarded with views, peace and quiet. Nice small enclosed dog walk. A site we would be more than happy to return to with our two dogs. We were in a motorhome so walked from site each day but if you are a camper or caravan I am sure you can enjoy trips further afield. More than happy to say it is a site we are keen to revisit in the future.

The Best Views

A beautiful site, ideally placed to walk the SW Coastal Path. The path was laden with pretty spring flowers near the site, but the walks to Tintagel and Boscastle were quite challenging. The bus stops at the top of the steep drive leading to the site, and we enjoyed our day trips by bus to Tintagel and Bude. We also enjoyed a walk to St Nectan's Glen. We chose pitch 2, which was in a quiet area and had 3 amazing views, the sea, the hills, and the village. The facilities were great, but the water in the ladies' showers wasn't as hot as I would have liked. We would certainly return.
