Probably the best UK break we have had

The site is in an outstanding location, with wonderful flora and fauna at the time we visited, notably deer and foxes in the grounds adjacent to the site, and gazillions of rabbits. Curlews and other birdlife unique to the area also prevalent, and outstanding scenery enhanced by the fact that the meadows had not yet been mown when we were there, creating an abundance of colour, including late wild orchids. Add into the mix outstanding walks close to the site, so no need to drive loads, and the ability to punctuate those walks with one of the many brilliant pubs near the site (some with their own micro-brewery, notably the Lamb Brewery at The Queens at Litton, which also served the best home-made pies I have had in many a year, so not for the dieters!) so this two week early summer break was near perfect. I would recommend a visit to the National Park Centre at Grassington, where there was an abundance of local guides including walking and cycling guide books. The site itself is very friendly, great wardens, clean facilities and frankly the Covid provisions were excellent, and not really a problem. A shame a notable minority chose not to comply with the band system for the shower/toilet blocks though. Overall one of the best UK caravan breaks we have had, and we will most certainly go back. For walkers and cyclists and fans of the great outdoors this is superb, but not sure there is a huge amount nearby for families with young kids.

Immaculately clean and good location

This was actually our first club site we’d managed to visit and we’re very impressed! The facilities were immaculate. Lovely powerful hot showers and plenty of space to spread out. We had a great spot by the playground so the kids were happy running around and playing. The site felt very safe but I did worry if they were being too loud as the site is so lovely and peaceful. There were only a handful of other families there over the weekend so probably more suited to couples, but this wouldn’t put us off, we’ll definitely be back. Lovely 8k circular walk from site to Linton Falls and onto Grassington. Safe enough for kids with no scary roads without pavements and plenty of pubs and ice cream stops! Really enjoyed staying here. Wish we could stay longer but the proximity to home definitely means we’ll be back!

Lovely Site for walking

This site is ideally located for people who love walking. The choice of walks through lovely countryside is excellent and as an added bonus you can walk to two pubs. The dog walking area is fantastic, although watch out for deer and rabbits. They are currently filming All Creatures Great and Small in Grassington, so the place has gone back to the 1930s. The site is immaculate with lovely pictures and the wardens are lovely. My only request would be for some super pitches.

Great staff

We stayed for a few days at the club site and unfortunately my wife was taken to hospital. We were due to leave for another site the next day so I was left in limbo. The Lady who was in reception really helped me sort out and arrange to stay longer at Wharfedale and also to amend the other caravan stay. It just reduced the stressful situation and it was really helpful. The kind staff member also called the next day to see if I needed anything else amending. Luckily my wife made a good recovery and we could enjoy the rest of our holiday. I just didn’t get the opportunity to say a massive thank you to the staff for all the help before we left. Great caravan club staff

Good, but pitches need modernising.

The site is located in rolling hills to the north of Skipton. Woods surround the site which is immaculate. The toilet block had limited access when we visited. The Wifi signal was good but TV reception was very poor and we purchased a TV lead to get BBC channels. Skipton has several large supermarkets, Grassington has small shops and cafes. We visited Skipton main street, the market and had a canal walk. We had a day trip to Brimham rocks and were lucky to see a large stag and hind. A great experience! The quarry at Coldstones Cut was amazing and our very own Grand Canyon. The site pitches sloped in every direction possible. It would only take a short time to use a digger and a spirit level to improve and modernise this site.

Quiet, pleasant and big skies.

We've just returned from 2 very pleasant nights at the Wharfedale Club Site (April 2021). The site is very well maintained and surprisingly quiet with friendly wardens and I was struck by how wide the vista is situated to the side of a large, glaciated valley. It's a 40m stroll into across the River Wharfe into Grassington which is a picturesque little town with a good selection of pubs and cafes. Nearer is Threshfield, the SPA has a local butcher's outlet and a good collection of very BBQable meats. We enjoyed the walks around the site and up to the old quarry just behind the vans and the old lime kiln. Getting there is a doddle with the Aire Valley motorway and the Skipton bypass. We'll look forward to returning.

Quality wardens on a well-located, clean site

Our third trip. Took a wrong turn and had used the ‘don’t use’ route past Bolton Abbey!! Horrendous, so don’t do what we did and go via Skipton!! Very warm, well organised welcome on arrival. One warden welcomed and then explained arrangements to my wife whilst I checked in at the office. First impressions, very good. Discovered some of the pitches are on a slight incline and our inexperience meant we struggled getting the hitch off. However, a very patient but helpful chap helped. Then, I struggled levelling. Thankfully, one of the wardens was doing what we later saw was a fairly regular tour round the site by wardens. Once again, helped us sort what was more a difficulty caused by our inexperience in ‘managing’ the jockey wheel! Toilet Block clean, great showers, good dishwashing room (although I had thought they had space and could have opened two rather than the single sinks), well maintained service points. Didn’t do any significant walks - dodgy legs and dodgier weather - but spoke to several who spoke highly of the variety of nearby walks. Terrific Spar and Garage 5 mins drive away. Butcher in shop. Grassington just a few mins. Further. Had excellent Sunday Lunch in The Devonshire (covid safe arrangements were very evident) and take away Fish and Chips from the chippy across the road although these were a tad disappointing. We’ll return to this site - but probably in the Summer!

One if the three top Dales sites.

Each of the 3 sites in the Yorkshire Dales has it's own character and charm. this site is beautifully maintained by the very attentive staff and is ideally located for exploring the areas of Wharfedale from Skipton to Buckden and also Littondale and mapow Malhamdale. Superb walking whatever the weather. Nearest town is Grassington (All Creatures great and small - new series - Darrowby). Always a pleasure to stay on this little gem of a site.

Just lovely

Second visit to this site and it won’t be our last. Beautiful surroundings and spotlessly clean site. Short walk to Grassington. Can’t fault it and would strongly recommend.
