Lovely site, but.......

Not the most modern of sites but in a stunning location. the facilities are dated but kept spotlessly clean by the friendly and helpful wardens. quite a few of the hardstandings are sloping from side to side and require serious adjustment. We were restricted on the choice of pitches (only 3 were available) when we arrived, two hardstanding and one grass. We selected one of the available hard standings, unfortunately both available were near the children s play area and very noisy at times. I cannot understand why the Club insists on building play areas on sites that are obviously not in areas that children frequent! Its nearly as bad as toilet facilities that include too many privacy cubicles, which very few use, but have to queue for toilets and showers!

Wonderful

Why have we waited so long? The site itself is set in a stunning setting, teeming with bird life, squirrels, hedgehogs rabbits. Not to mention a barn owl hunting over the dog walk- a nature lovers paradise. You can take a different path out of the site every day and you are immediately onto. The stunning yorkshire moors, well signposted paths and easy walking. Without doubt the best caravan club site for dogs we have been too so far. Around and about, Grassington, a quaint village with some quirky shops, couple of pubs and a spar. Skipton is well worth a visit, with a market every other day, with a Morrisons and a tesco. However the local butchers and bakers are worth supporting. we spent a day travelling around one side of the national park and the scenery is breathtaking.  Wherever we ate we had cracking food at reasonable prices, we sampled the local pies and sausages again could find no fault. The sit itself is just what you expect of a caravan club site, well maintained, toilet block is absolutely spotless if a little dated. A credit to the wardens. We would highly recommend this site and will be back

Lovely Escape to the Dales

This was our first visit to Wharfdale and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful countryside of the Dales. We particularly enjoyed all the walking options from the site. The site is excellent and the facilities block is clean and well maintained, although a little old fashioned. It would also benefit from more shower cubicles at peak times. The wardens were very friendly and offered good recommendations on local walks and places of interest. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Our favourite

Always a lovely stay but as the muddy weather draws in a dog shower outside the facilities block would be very very welcome . Our local park has one the temperature is set at warm and a meter taking 50p gives you 5 mins washing time , the drains are there also for the wash away . Our bike riding friends may also appreciate somewhere to rinse their bikes , I wish the club would consider this as it would make it easier to bring your dog away in the winter . A lovely site though .

Peace in the Dales

This is an excellently maintained site due to the two sets of wardens working beyond the call. The pitches are regularly checked and maintained. The facilities block is dated but due to their dedication, kept immaculately. I was particularly impressed by their local knowledge, interest in members requirements (often found lacking now unfortunately on club sites). We will certainly return and hope both sets of wardens are recognised by the club for their hard work and dedication.

Dales

Lovely site in a beautiful location.  The toilet/shower block could do with updating- lots of privacy cubicles but only 6 showers, not enough when the site is full.

Garndparents and grandchildren happy

We had a lovely 2 days on the campsite with our 2 grandchildren. We went specifically to see Brimham rocks but there was plenty for the children to do around the site on there scooters and playing in the really good dog area. Will return at a later date

Great second visit

Once again we had a fantastic visit to Grassington. The Wardens are friendly and helpful, the site and toilets are clean and well kept. As a location it is wonderful with plenty to do whatever your tastes or needs.

Excellent location

We were there from 20/8 to 23/8. Staff friendly and helpful. Facilities clean. Site is in an excellent location, lovely walks, nearby quarry, waterfalls and villages all around. The Gamekeeper Inn on next site is friendly and food good. Wharfedale is Highly recommended, it's one of our favourites.

What more could you want?

My wife & I love returning to this site as there is so much to do right on the doorstep Appletreewick or Kettlewell are in opposite directions to the site but both walkable following the River Wharf. Grassington is a delightful village with many shops that will cater for almost anything especially the Hardware / Ironmonger. Finally what better way to finish off a busy day than with a drink or two at the nearby Gamekeepers Inn located on the Long Ashes static park
