We'll be back

Another visit for us to Wharfedale, a site that we have previously enjoyed staying at due in part to the nearby leisure club and Gamekeepers Inn for food. The site was as good as ever. Dog walking around the site is good; a walk through the nearby quarry is interesting and it is easy to walk to Grassington. The site was busy when we stayed so getting a table at the Gamekeepers, accompanied by our dog, was tricky. Also, the leisure club wasn't fully up and running with its outside eating facilities, which was a little disappointing. However, we had a lovely stay and expect to visit again.

Super easter

Great wardens, made you feel at home as soon as you arrived. Great walks and villages/pubs. And then returned to our home from home on wheels to settle down with some home cooked food and a bottle of wine. Who needs holidays abroad with such a lovely country to explore. To all those caravan haters you do not know what you are missing

Wharfedale-What a cracker!

Wharfedale site is in a superb location if you like walking and the outdoors. It is just approx. 1.5 mile walk into Grassington which is a lovely little village with shops etc and it is a flat walk with only one little hill as you approach Grassington village. There are some lovely tea rooms and restaurants once you get in to Grassington itself which would be rude not to visit once there. Also from the site there are other walks should you choose to do those and walks in other parts of the dales are easily reached by car from the site. All in all a lovely Easter weekend was had by all and the weather was superb as well after a wet Good Friday.

The Dales Way

Love this site. Really feel at home here. There are some lovely walks all around this site, so it's 10 / 10 for dogs. The site is nicely tucked away from the main road which makes for a quiet site. The facilities are centrally located, within easy reach for all of the pitches and well maintained. The wardens this time were from the North East, so always pleasant and sociable. The proximity to the Park Home site of Long Ashes is a boon with all their faculties, Pub, Resaurant and leisure facilities (walking distance). Grassington is only a couple of miles away and the quaint little village of Linton can be reached from the main car park in Grassington which takes you over the falls. If you're into country pubs, don't miss a pint and a meal at Fountaine Inn and The Old Hall in Threshfield. we'll be back!

Early midweek stay

Our first CC Club site since returning to the club and we were not disappointed. The site is classic CC, clean tidy with good and fully working facilities and ever helpful wardens. A cheerful booking into the site made us feel welcome. We benefitted from a MWD on our pitch fee too so three nights for a mere £42 felt like great value. In the adjacent residential van site theres a leisure club but more importantly for us, a great pub selling excellent food at sensible prices. We were well impressed by the Gamekeepers Inn and would recommend it, its dog friendly too! A nice easy walk into Grassington filled one day and a run out in the van to Skipton and Ilkley gave us plenty to do on another day. Its a quiet site at this time of year and midweek at least, and there are plenty birds and squirrels to keep you amused on site. TV reception was non existent but if you had a lead you could plug in to the sites aerial on most (?) pitches. You could buy a lead from the site shop if you wanted to. Only gripe is that motorhomes like ours with an offside water fill point needed either a very long hose ( we didnt have one long enough) or park the van at the fill point in the wrong direction to the sites one way system, which just felt wrong. A great stay and we will be back.

Superb site in heart of Wharfedale

Stayed here for the first time last weekend.  Lovely welcome from the wardens who were really helpful and friendly.  The site is great in a superb location with beautiful scenery surrounding it and plenty to do.  Visited Grassington and Skipton (which was really busy on market day) and Burnsall.  There is a good pub a short walk away and plenty of good local walks which kept our two dogs busy.  This is now one of our top 5 favourite sites to visit for  short stays.  We will definitely be back.

Lovely stay

Loved it. Only our 2nd trip out in our caravan.  Friendly staff and friendly Yorkshire folk.  Great pub on site and lovely Grassington nearby.  Great dog walks.  Peaceful and enjoyable.  We'll be back.

Cracking site

Booked a 3 day weekend and stayed for 6. Liked the location and everything about the place including the friendly wardens. Nice meal at the Gamekeepers Inn and so handy. Used the leisure club next door that I thought a bit pricey but enjoyed it none the less. The surrounding countryside is brilliant for the dogs and it's a 25 min brisk walk to Grassington. Will definitely be back.

Good base for exploring the Dales

We have stayed at this site a number of times.  It is well maintained and clean.   There is not a lot of space between pitches, it is not a site for sitting in the sun and relaxing more to use as a base for exploring the Dales with Skipton, Grassington etc close by.    The Old Hall inn in Threshfiled provides good pub food but at the Gamekeepers which is co-located to the site we found the food very poor quality and would not recommend it. The wardens, especially the ladies were really nice and helpful (not saying the men weren't we just didn't speak to them). We will be returning.
