Wharfedale CC club review

We stayed last weekend from Thursday to Sunday 3 nights. Lovely well organised site in a magnificent area of outstanding natural beauty. There is a new play area for children and I think families who enjoy the outdoors would really love this site. It is set adjacent to Long Ashes residential chalet site which has its own pub, restaurant open to the public. Swimming pool available but a charge applies. It is a lovely walk to Grassington which is always a delight to go and walk around. Wharfedale is one of our favourite sites in a favourite area.

Super Early Spring Break

Hubby came to the site on Monday on Monday 9th March, I joined him on the Thursday till Sunday then he came home Tuesday. We got the pitch we wanted as it wasn't too busy. The site is delightful peace and quiet and thank heavens the "paper" man no longer delivers sounding his horn all over the site at 10 am every day ! The wardens are efficient and the site is always clean. The site attracts a lot of older people due to its quiet tranquility. We do feel that it is not really a place for children as there is nothing for them. The reception/shop has been painted and tidied up it now looks very clean and organised and you can now buy a bit of food, including fresh home made scones and fresh tea cakes very nice indeed. It is a regular visit for us during the year can't wait to go back. Oh and perfect for dogs !

Great Site

After a friendly welcome, a relaxing stay on this typical Caravan Club Site. Well laid out, well maintained and in a great location to see some stunning Yorkshire scenery.

2nd time visit

We have just returned from Wharfedale, this was our 2nd visit we went at the same time last year and almost had the same 2 pitches. We travelled with ou son and his family. Although the weather was slightly better this year we still found the facilities block spotless regardless of time of day. My only criticism is that it is quite a hike from some of the pitches on a cold wet morning. The new wardens were very welcoming and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. We ate both nights at the gamekeepers inn which is only a 10 to 15 minutes walk from even the furthest pitch the food is excellent although we had to wait a while as it was very busy. The site is well located being within 15 minutes of Skipton a lively market town and Kettlewell a picturesque dales village with several good eateries. Grassington can be reached within half an hour on foot or 10 mins by car again a thriving dales town with lots of facilities including a great butchers and bakers. We usually use this site for our first run out of the season as its only 40 minutes from home.

Great site to visit

This is a lovely site the staff are very friendly. Its well equipped and clean. The only minor feedback is I thought the shower block could have been a degree or two warmer but having said that it wasnt freezing just my personal preference. Will definitely visit again.

wonderful wharfedale

This site is a favourite and each time we visit we are reminded why. The friendly welcome from the wardens---the home made scones for sale in reception---the beautifully laid out pitches surrounded by dry stone walls and trees----the abundance of birdlife----the walks available immediately off site into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales---the clean and immaculately kept facilities---the peace and quiet----a lovely way to spend a weekend or maybe linger a little longer-----perfect.

New Year Visit 2014/15

Had a very good relaxing stay over the New Year period. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Wardens very friendly especially with their mince pies and nibbles etc on New year Eve. Worthy cause they supported with the raffle. Will no doubt return during 2015
