Excellent stay

Arrival was hassle free. Five van queue which was dealt with efficiently. Chose the main site and a pitch on the lower end of the site both of which were in good condition, as were the amenities at the top of the slope/hill. Spent Monday to Friday relaxed, during the day & at night. Easy beach walk to Lowestoft and found a nice sandy stretch of beach at Pakefield, 3km away. The beach infront of the upper site is shingles but near to the waters edge is interspersed with sandy areas that allow for stone free sunbathing. All in all highly recommended.

Lovely site superb Wardens Pity about some members

We have just returned from another visit to this lovely site. We were greeted by the superb Wardens and the booking in process was easy and safe we chose a pitch on the beach side site on the rear row which was a mistake due to the traffic noise right behind you. Some of the pitches were in need of a weeding but with the site being so busy the wardens are hard pressed to attend to it, they seem to be working in excess of 50 hours a week. Unfortunately the behaviour of some members does not help eg: 1. arriving hours before 1PM and causing traffic chaos in the village. 2. ignoring the covid rules for toilet entry. on 4 occasions My wife and myself went to use the facilities and found the hooks for rings occupied indicating that the maximum number were within .after waiting some time we opened the door to check who was inside to find it completely empty, on another occasion I saw a member go straight in without using a ring. Despite these niggles we both enjoyed our stay as did our little dog.

Moneing old git

Well what can I say I've been going to Whitehouse beach for quite a few years now, but the site is just not how it used to be ,the pitches are very untidy, weeds all over the place, I can't say what the toilet facility was like as I used my own vans equipment, as for a big 2ft sign saying no visitors as for covid , twice the next van and the next to me had visitors, plus 2 cars with a caravan, mentioned it to the wardens but they were not told, Is it not there job to check these things out by going around the site, also the gate to the beach used to have a sign that no cables were to be over the path as it was a trip hazard, two separate vans used that pitch and both times the Orange cable was over the path. other than my gripes we had a great time.

Nice site

This site is ideally situated on the coast. Nearby is Lowestoft and a bit further is Great Yarmouth. The wardens are friendly and the amenities are clean. However these amenities are in need of an upgrade. CAMC HQ has had a recent update so please put some cash into the sites. We, the members, don’t see head office only the sites.

A site of two halves

This is a site of 2 halves if you don't mind not having your awning try to get on the beach side of the site where the pitches and grounds are neat and tidy the other side is like the poor relation - pitches with hardly any gravel, uneven and weeds coming through. When we were there the grass had not been cut although the weather had not been good (but beach side OK). Gravel was so poor on pitches that they were flooding we didn't put awning up because of wet pitch. There was only one shower working and in that shower water did not flow away very quickly. The whole toilet/shower block was very old fashioned and could do with updating. We were told boiler was not working but was being mended, however there seemed very little activity towards this. I know this is out of CCMC hands but there is a constant boom from a nearby bird scarer. I don't think we will be visiting this site again unless we could be guaranteed a beach side pitch.

Needs a facelift

Wardens are doing a wonderful job with what they have, in that i mean it is in need of a facelift, the shower pipes are rusting and does not as members reflect on the money we as members are paying. The internet is excellent, mobile signal very good, but during the high summer be aware at weekend the local pub has live entertainment, if you want to escape it, take a lovely 8 mile drive to the lovely beach at Southwold, if the sun shines there is no need to go to the Mediterranean. Overall, a lovely site in a lovely setting, this has been our second from the North West, a long journey but well worth the visit. A bit of advice to fellow members, break the journey in half and stay at Cambridge overnight. Enjoy your stay.

A favourite site

Just returned from 10 days at this beach side with its rustic charm which ranks as one of our favourites having been visiting for over 30 years. We love the area and there’s so much to do and places to visit. Warm welcome from wardens who worked hard to keep this site clean and covid secure during very busy times. Parts may need an update such as toilet blocks. The beach is a doggy paradise and being pebble and gorse is easy to walk on. No need really for a dog walk other than the one close to pitches farthest away from the beach. I feel some of the previous comments are unfair. The approach road is through an English seaside village which is tight in places and yes there are potholes, but the speed bumps are there for a reason.....our safety !! There’s a range of large supermarkets a couple of miles away which you wouldn’t wish for close to the site and there is a decent Co Op in the village. We had torrential rain for 2 days continually and it’s no wonder some areas got flooded, but not helped by drivers who we saw drive too fast on site and create a wave of water flooding the grass. The arrival time is 1300 for reasons. Why do members start arriving 3 hours early and cause traffic issues inside the site and on the approach roads

Kessingland?

The approach to the site and through a very run down area and the final approach is narrow made worse by parked cars, speed bumps and a potholed road. The beach opposite the site is OK if you like pebbles and grass. The beach further south gets better. The Waterfront restaurant looked clean and welcoming but the Paella night on a Thursday was fully booked for the next 3 weeks. The pub next door had a group playing outside that was quite noisy until 21.30 on both Saturday and Sunday nights. The dog walk is OK for a Chihuahua but not our Golden Retriever. After moderate rain fall our pitch had 60mm of standing rain water on two thirds of the pitch, all grass pitches were taped off. One of the boilers was broken so only 1 shower open during our stay. One shop within walking distance that sold bread and milk and some beach type paraphernalia otherwise it was a car journey to the supermarkets on the A12. For us it was not the best of sites for a holiday.

Needs updating

Stayed here for 4 nights and for the first time in a caravan. Booking in went ok, warden very pleasant, as we had grandchildren he suggested pitching near the playground. I have more equipment in my back garden for children to play on. C C either do a playground or don’t bother, I know they have the beach to play on but when getting ready to go out somewhere on site for them to play is handy. Also like many others here I will complain about the showers. The trouble with water pressure was not mentioned during check in which would have been useful. All we saw was only one shower open, so having to queue many times and why no shelf or at least a few extra hooks. It made life awkward, not a good start to the day. Also couldn’t the wardens have warned the people on the pitches about a scaffolding lorry turning up at 8 in the morning. I realise some work needs to be done but being told about it would have been nice. Like other people I noticed a distinct lack of interaction on the part of the wardens. The office didn’t open till 12.30 and then shut at 5pm. I spent 2 days trying to get tokens for the dryer ( why not just take cash), when I finally got hold of a warden I was told office hours and was told I could get one then. I said I would be out all day so he went back and got me some but again why the odd opening hours? I felt that the wardens were just marking time, the was no investment in the site. I always do a review of any site we stay in and on some sites it becomes difficult to say how good the site was in a new way as most of them are just so good (looking at you longleat) but this is the first negative review I have done for any site but I would like to think it and the other reviews will lead to improvement.

early summer break

We had a 4 night stay at this lovely well kept site. Visited Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and the charming Southwold and we were blessed with beautiful sunny warm weather. Wardens were friendly and helpful. we will be back.
