Lovely Break - Great Wardens

Wardens doing a great job in difficult circumstances with COVID, etc. The wardens had a very unpleasant job to sort whilst we were there - a broken sewer - but they just got on with it and fixed it. Excellent spirit among the wardens when dealing with this horrible task. We like this site because of its location and the dog-walking and easy access to the dog-friendly beach. Despite some very unseasonal wild weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again and shall return. Big 'up' for the wardens!! Thank-you.

Fantastic Site

The close proximity to the beach, sand dunes, woodland and the John Muir Way make this site idyllic. Our dogs love it and we will certainly return. What makes the site so nice is that it is divided into little enclaves with grassy banks in between so you never feel that you are on a big site. Facilities are excellent being well maintained and very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and there is lots to do in the local area. So many beautiful beaches particularly Bellhaven Sands. Dunbar is well worth a visit and we had a lovely meal at the garden centre there. North Berwick Fry has the best fish and chips by far. Lovely relaxing holiday.

Tranquil and relaxing site.

Not our first visit to this site and will not be our last. It is set in a nice peaceful area and is only a short stroll to the beach with excellent views (when the weather allows) and scope for some excellent walks. It is some years since we owned a dog but if dogs could choose I would imagine this would be one of their favourite sites. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and it is such a pity that they have to tolerate a small minority of campers who seem to believe that they are exempt from all the site rules as well as the COVID rules. The facilities on the site are up to the usual high club standard and our only complaint is the Wi-Fi reception which is very poor and just relies on a hotspot.

Recent 2020 visit to Yellowcraigs

I am just back from 10days in Yellowcraigs. 1st time out since lockdown, I'll admit to bring apprehensive, however mostly what I saw was good. Check in was contacted by phone, when we first arrived they only had 3 wristbands for female showers/toilets so often lengthy queues while you waited for someone coming out of shower even if you only needed the toilet, after day 4or 5 though 3 extra bands were out out for use of people only needing toilet (different colour) and this helped tremendously! For the entire stay, there was only 1out if 4 sinks in use at dish washing point. As the sinks were in a row. Several of us couldn't work out why the sink at the end couldn't be opened and the two in the middle blocked off and there would still be more than adequate social distancing. I also felt that whiles t hand sanitizer were available in many places, there were none at the water/bin points which I felt was an obvious place to put them, the wardens agreed but had been told it wasn't necessary due to extra sanitation of this area however it is still a high touch area and at my work (NHS), we have to sanitize all equipment used by patient ( non covid), including anything they've touched so don't get this one. We had noisy neighbours playing guitars at 23.30 but this was addressed on complaining to the wardens. Over all I felt fairly safe on site and would return, been 5 times now, yes it was different but still a great site.

Great Site

This is an excellent, well maintained site in a great location. Lovely beach and a fairly short cycle ride into North Berwick. This was our first visit and we will be back.

July 2020 Visit

Easy and Efficient Check in from friendly warden. Site is looking good and lots of thought has been put into social distancing measures. Toilet Block has had a slight modification at the entrance to allow for entry and exit, with clearly marked 2 meter markers. One way system on the dog walk, this was great. Beach as good as ever. Thank you

Far too many dogs.

We stayed in September. The site was a typical club site. 1 of the Male wardens was a little sharply spoken for no reason, ? Tired end of season. We did feel there needs to be more hard standing, and we where shocked just how many dogs where on site, some I most say with bad owners. Most mornings our neighbour would take his 3 large dogs out after they had been moaning to go for a long while. Only for them in desperation to deposit their droppings out side our awning. Yes the owner did pick up. But it wasn’t what we wanted while eating breakfast. If he had taken the poor things earlier as they where requesting he’d of made it to the dog walk. He wasn’t the only bad owner we spotted. Also the smell of dog pee on the waysides and pathways is awful. No we are not anti dog, just anti bad owners. I Truly believe it is time the club charged for dogs and put a limited to numbers per unit. Would you like to be camping on a pitch that had previously had 4-5 dogs on it?

Excellent peaceful site

What a wonderful and peaceful location, within 10 mins stroll of endless dog friendly beaches with golden sand and interesting rocks and pools, and a lovely view across the Firth of Forth. Perhaps this area of Scotland is a little overlooked as it wasn't that busy - even though we were there in half term week - but it shouldn't be! Lovely site staff and a good choice of pitches. Usual high standards of cleanliness as expected from a Club site, with good facilities. We walked to North Berwick one day; a smart town with lots of coffee shops, and the other day to Gullane, excellent paths either on the beach or across paths through the dunes. Our dogs loved it and we will definitely be back

First class

We have been camping for decades and bought a motor home for our retirement. I was impressed at the cleanliness, helpful and happy staff, most of the site is flat, it's near a beach, woodland and an easy walk to the pub. We've just come back from our 6th visit over the last 30 months or so and the site is as it was, as it is and a delight to use. The number of children and pets have never been a problem and our dogs go bonkers when we are there. First class and a triumph for the club. We will be back 2020!! Great long weekend away

Been to Yellowcraigs quite a few times. Always lovely. Facilities are excellent and always spotless. Lots of kids having fun. Wardens always very helpful also. Great for the nearby beach and for a little further the Archerfield house and the associated walled garden are great for kids and adults too. We were lucky enough to get there for a food festival this time which was great.
