A countryside feel amidst major roads

This was my first visit to this site and I loved it for the feel of being in the countryside but yet major roads were circulating it not too far away. The traffic noise was not a problem. You can walk into York but its a long walk so I caught a taxi as the buses at this time were not always running, this cost £10 one way, which if sharing is not too bad. There is a lovely play area and a field also for the kids to run around in. Facilities were spotless as were the site. The managers were very pleasant and efficient. Will definitely return.

Safe stay

Recently returned for a long weekend at York. The site was well maintained and kept very clean. The dog exercise field is an added bonus. the site was fairly full but we felt safe at all times. The P7R is only 10 mins away and he best way to get into York. We will be back

Cleanliness

The site itself was good, it was the cleaning, whilst we are in unusual circumstances with the Covid 19 virus I think that the cleaning could have been better. The bin in the toilets were not emptied every day and they were open topped also the squeegee that is for cleaning the showers is no use what so ever and there was no antibacterial cleaner to use. The bands that were issued for the toilets had to be put on a hook which every-one used so any infection could spread, I used to clean mine with the hand sanitizer every time I removed it from the hook. My husband used the washing up facilities and noticed a couple of times that the floor had not been swept properly. I know this is unusual times but more effort needs to be taken. I speak as I am one of the people that has had to shield because of underlining systems,.

Recent stay

Cannot praise the site wardens highly enough after coming to assist my wife after my recent collapse on site. The assistance they gave her whilst I was being taken to York hospital was second to none. We were due to be leaving on Saturday 12th Sept to return home, the site staff looked after our dogs and saw to our awning and allowed us to stay an extra night whilst our friends drove down from Scotland to pick up our caravan to take it home. We will most certainly be back when I have recovered and am allowed to drive again. B Murie Pitch 107

Somewhere to sit and relax.

We stayed on the site 6th to the 10th Sept 2020. The staff where very good and helpful. Everywhere appeared Covid compliant .The pitch was level and spacious, there is good tv reception throughout the site. Water and chemical points where cleaned regularly by the staff. We used our own facilities so cannot comment on the site facilities. .You are only 5 minutes car ride from a large Sainsbury's or Asda.. both do click and collect. We will go back again. A very well maintained site with friendly wardens.

3 showers for 108 pitches?

I'm all okay with following recommendations but closing six showers out of nine and all of the urinals in the Gents is massive overkill. We've spent nearly three weeks on an exceptional site in Cornwall in August that coped a thousand times better than this! If the Club wants us to use 5 van sites for half the price, just say so? £30 a night for effectively 5 van site facilities is massively over the top. That said, the site was well kept as always, grass was immaculate, location is good, spoiled by over the top reaction...........

Super site

Stayed here for a week in August and had a great time. Booked quite last minute so was really happy to find availability. We were on the site with our 2 grandchildren and 3 dogs. The kids had a great time, the children play area catered for very small to older children and they also have a playing field. The dog walking field was perfect for exercising our 3 dogs. The only downside for this site when you have dogs is that you can't walk from the site with the dogs as the exit is past stud horses in a field and you are not allowed to go past them with dogs but to be honest this didn't cause us much of an issue. The toilet and shower blocked were kept very clean and 6 people were allowed in at a time but i never went once when you couldn't get in straight away. The site was lovely and quiet is very well looked after and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and i would and have already recommended this site to other caravaners and would have no hesitation in booking this site again in the future. The site is within a couple of miles to good shopping i.e. Asda, Aldi, Marks and Spencer and even a John lewis. A few miles further on and you have York and the York Outlets.

Enjoyable stay

I stayed here at the beginning of August with the rest of the family the site is so spotless and all the public areas are sanatised at regular intervals the wardens work hard to ensure everyone feels as safe as possible it’s not what you can’t do due to covid but what you can the site is also a good place for touring around the area the tent area is also kept very tidy and grass kept well will definitely be back again

Beechwood Bliss

Yes, it was bliss to get out after COVID-19 lockdown in our new campervan. It was our first visit to Beechwood Grange. The site was very clean. Well organised. The team were welcoming and helpful and they were clearly working hard to make everyone's stay as good as poss. I read that some people thought there was noise from the nearby roads...all I can say is they must sleep lightly. The top of my 'van is canvas, so as thin as a tent and my house in the country with only the odd sheep bleat and a bird tweet. The road noise didn't disturb me! Well done Beechwood team, we'll come back soon.
