We stayed for 2 weeks in July, returning to the site for the first time since covid. The toilet/shower block has been replaced since our last visit in 2019 and is excellent- always clean and tidy. Similarly the dishwashing & laundry facilities. We caught the start of the Dutch summer holidays on our 2nd week so it was a little noisier than the first but you'll get that anywhere at this time of year. Echoing another comment about the motorhome comfort pitches- they are extremely tight to get on and off if there is another motorhome on the opposite of adjacent pitches even though the staff told us they can accommodate an 8m unit. This is due to the central "roadway" being quite a narrow space in which to manoevure and much shunting is required. That was the only downside of the holiday. Excellent staff as always here, good-ish weather and the centre of Delft is a few minutes bike ride away. Wonderful city to visit with plenty to appeal to almost anybody. Give Cafe de Volder on Voldersgracht a try. Good food and a nice atmosphere. Returning next year for another Delft fix!
Excellent location
Stayed here in May , easy to find as well signposted. The location is excellent for walking into Delft, approx 15 mins. Staff on reception spoke excellent English. Pitches are well laid out but a little tight to get into with a long motorhome if the pitch opposite is being used. The shower /toilet block is very modern and clean, with an excellent family shower room which has plenty of space. The only criticisms we had were the recycling bins were outside the site so a long walk and around the site there were no separate bins for cardboard etc. Also there was only one motorhome service point so if the site is busy you could be waiting some time. But overall an excellent site at a reasonable price
Nice base to explore South Holland
We had a lovely two-week stay here in May 2024. We have a touring caravan and our grass pitch was pleasant, with a hedge behind our caravan and, although smaller than UK pitches, we didn’t feel crowded. Some motorhome pitches looked a little bit tight however.
Facilities in the new shower block were excellent. There were many more sinks than showers but we didn’t face any queues.
Part of our stay was during Dutch school holidays and the site became very busy with children and a daily entertainment schedule - this looked good for the children but if you’re seeking tranquility, check when Dutch holidays are! As soon as half term finished, the site became quiet and peaceful.
Travel from the site via bike was amazing and we cycled to loads of places including The Hague, Rotterdam and Gouda. It’s a supremely short cycle into the lovely canal city of Delft, which also has several large supermarkets. Delft station has a good service of trains to Amsterdam. You can also drive to further afield attractions such as Kinderdijk and Keukenhof.
We arrived super early due to the overnight ferry and check in was perhaps a little too casual and I had to return later in the week to get the gate code (only needed late at night however). Some campers were allowed onto their pitches early but we had to wait outside so it’s the luck of the draw as to whether your pitch is free. The site is on a lovely quiet tree-lined road so we were able to park there and were allowed to use the site facilities. The staff were very friendly and all speak excellent English.
The surroundings are beautiful wooded parks and lakes.
If there was road noise, we were not disturbed by it at all.
There’s a little restaurant on site which was perfectly pleasant, and a burrito van visits (dates are posted in reception/ on the site website) and their burritos were great!
All in all, we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend.
Outstandingly good, with excellent staff.
Outstandingly good, with excellent staff support (professional and enthusiastic to help).
Close proximity to Delft and beautifully relaxed location, apart from the major road within earshot which wasn't too disruptive.
Recommended!
Not at all what I expected
Paid a lot of money for a 10 day holiday on a comfort pitch which should have been hard standing and grass but ended up on a sloping car park that I could not put my awning up or even sit outside. I booked this pitch so that I could try my new awning for the first time but as I was put on a motorhome pitch was unable to do so. The road noise was awful and even on chocks the car park pitch was uneven. I left after 5 days of the holiday as it was not what I expected and didn't feel like a holiday at all. The only good part of the site was the toilet block but other then that I would certainly never go back or recommend to anyone wanting a quiet break
Lovely family friendly site next to beautiful Delft
We loved this site. Very easy to get to on large motorways & good access - we have a large extra wide caravan. The pitch size was generous. The toilet block was beautiful & always clean. Great little site restaurant for pizza & chips. Our older children loved the pool & table tennis. The site is next to a large park & lake and short bike ride from the very pretty town of Delft. Bikes are needed to make the most of the area - there is limited car access to Delft town - so we just took our bikes. Biking to town to a restaurant for evening dinner was a new experience & great fun. We also visited Amsterdam from this site - an easy day trip. 45mins to city park and ride - excellent value, but need to check instructions to get park & ride discount. A good central location for access to lots of cities. Massive Ikea next door to site - for a rainy day. Very friendly staff. We bought extra wi-fi so everyone had a login. (2 inclusive in fee). Wi-fi worked very well and was cheap to 'top up'. Overall I would highly recommend.
Great site to visit Delft
This is a great site if you want to visit the beautiful town of Delft. You can cycle to the centre 10 minutes on easy cycle paths.
The site pitch for our Motorhome was snug, but they are well marked. The site is a large family focussed site, so there is children’s entertainment which can be noisy. We have no children, however I quite enjoyed the crazy antics as the daily procession passed our pitch !
The facilities are massive, clean and well run.
There is restaurant/bar and shop on site.
We got a great discount on the Delft pottery factory museum from the site reception.
Would certainly stay again and perhaps visit Rotterdam and The Hague which are in easy reach from the site.
great site city location
spent 2 nights in June after arriving off ferry. Great central location in beautiful surroundings. Had pitch with electric, snug, just about fitted in. Quiet and tidy.
Sanitary facilities appeared very good, although we used our own. Short walk into town, which is beautiful and many cycle routes. For us a great stopoff prior to our onward journey
Hugmans on tour
The site is very easy to get into town 5 mins bike or 15 mins walking plenty of shops and markets on several days
The campsite is kept reasonably clean (some garden work could be done) depending where you are situated or placed some areas are quite noisy we were put behind the pool and play area which was quite noisy at times. We'll stocked shop and small cafe which done litebites on site. Showers, toilets and washing up area was 1st class
Incredible stay
Delightful site in the middle of Delft. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Impeccably clean and modern facilities. Best I have ever seen for a campsite. There is a small shop but it is well stocked. A little cafe with pizzas is available most evenings.
The pitches can be small with not much room however we have #29 which was a serviced pitch opposite the shower block and it was huge.
The site was so quiet at night you could only hear owls.
Walk into the old town was about 15 mins. Excellent supermarkets available and lovey shops to browse.
Cycling was a dream and the weather, although thundery, was very hot.
Can’t wait to come back and stay for longer.
