A lovely site

Visited end of July 2016 and as expected site was very busy - however we were offered a choice of three pitches and chose to stay near the entrance to avoid the hustle and bustle of centre of site.  Very helpful and pleasant staff.  The setting is perfect for visiting Rudesheim as within easy walking distance along the river.  Toilet facilities are the best ever seen in over 30 years of caravanning/motorhoming - perfection, and exceptionally well maintained.  Only a small shop but as access to the town is easy, no problems. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent Site

Wonderful location just outside town with easy access to the Rhine. Facilities excellent and staff very friendly. Town has a lot to offer, for oldies like us the Drosselgrasse was worth seeing but not staying too long! Enjoyed the cable car trip and driving through the vines, also visit to Abbey and activity on river.

Great / relaxing stopover

Site was ok - Shower and toilet facilities were amazing - some of the best.  Fantastic location on the Rhein and walking distance to the local town where you can find shops and loads of places to eat.  We stayed for 1 night which was probably enough as the only criticism was the size of the pitches and it was all a bit chaotic - ie they are not really marked out and you get squeezed in where they can put you.  Overall good enough though and some pitches did look pretty nice.

Great location

Fantastic site on the Rhine right next to Rüdesheim. Very clean and modern facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Rüdesheim is beautiful traditional Germany town with great food, wine and beautiful scenery. Recommend a ride on the cable car. Again recommend book though the caravan club as makes everything easy.

Excellent site

Beautifully situated site, on the banks of the Rhine, toilet blocks & showers were spacious & spotless, - cleaned regularly, and of a very high standard.WiFi is free, but coverage is a bit patchy.  Not much for children to do on the site, but there is an excellent outdoor swimming complex just outside the site, which was very quiet Very hand for the supermarkets which were all situated within 5 minutes walk, and the town centre was also just a short walk, we didn't use the car at all whilst we were here, as everything is so close & there was plenty to do in Rhudesheim itself.

August 2016

The site is very difficult to find even with the caravan club instructions, do not rely on your sat nav it takes you out of town, up to the woods, we helped several caravans who could not find the site it is not well sign posted. Excellent facilities very clean, showers are only located in the toilet block by reception, sometimes you may need to queue in the ladies showers. Site is ideal for supermarket and walk along the river to town. Site staff are very helpful and speak English . Lovely scenery and castles in area. If you like dry wine there are loads in the area, if you like dessert wine it's very expensive . One evening at 11pm  the local youths decided to play loud music under the ruined bridge at the end of the campsite, which the owner of site quickly sorted out. Pitches are close together but ours was very nice. Rudeshiem is very pretty the shops are mainly souvenir shops and prices are expensive, these I think are for the cruise ships that go up and down the Rhine with American and Chinese tourists,

Summer 2016 tour

The pitches were very tight which we initially did not like but as the time went on we became accustomed.  The site is clean and well maintained and the staff friendly.  Not much on site for children and nothing for teenagers, however just outside the camp is a community swimming pole area.  Supermarkets are 5 minutes away and the town of Rudershiem is a pleasant walk.  We used the site as a base for sightseeing and made the most of our time there.

Perfect location

At first the campsite looked horribly crowded, hardly any space between vans but this wasn't actually a problem at all, just different. A small restaurant, bar and shop on the site. The location of the site is perfect. We didn't use the car at all in 6 days. The lovely town is a walk along the Rhine with lots of shops and restaurants and a choice of supermarkets even closer around the back of the camp. Tourist information is in the town and the staff were so helpful, you can buy tickets in there.  The river is perfect for cycling. A choice of boat trips on your doorstep, great value, we paid 20 euros each for a 4 and a half hour trip that you could get off and on, really beautiful trip. Cable car up the hill and down to the next town if you want and some interesting museums in the town. Swimming pool next door and lots more to do in the surrounding area (castles, wine tasting). There is also a train station for trips further afield.  And spacious, modern and clean toilets and showers! A downside was wi-fi was only outside reception (no indoor space). Would definitely recommend this site.

Riverside Camping

August 2016 - Good site on the banks of the Rhine. Riverside location, short walk into town, right next door to local pool and easy access to some other beautiful parts of the Rhine. Facilities are good. Some pitches are close together - especially for those only stopping for a few nights - but this wasn't a problem, and the ample trees mean it doesn't feel crowded. Enjoyed our stay.
