Why stay here ...

This friendly site in the heart of the Loire Valley is ideal for nature lovers thanks to its environmentally-conscious owners Laurent and Isabelle. There is abundant wildlife to be discovered on foot or on the cycle paths and over 50 species of birds can be spotted on the nature and fitness trail. Guests can also learn about the bees kept in the hives on the site's land and even buy the fresh honey from the onsite shop.

The facilities are of a high standard and include a pleasant pool complex (with accessible lift), a petanque area and a restaurant serving traditional food. There’s also a kids’ club to entertain younger children in high season.

Get out and about and explore the Chateaux of the Loire in a different way. The site offers motorcycles hire direct from reception, and can also recommend tours for you, so that you can take advantage of the small back roads to discover the castles, vineyards and some of the most beautiful villages in France.

The majestic Cheverny Castle in the village of Cheverny is a leisurely walk or cycle away from the site and Les Saules' central location makes it perfect for visits to the other most popular chateaux of the region including Chambord and Chaumont which can be reached on the 550kms of cycle paths "Châteaux à Vélo " The site sells reduced price tickets at the reception tro save you queuing.

There is also the fabulous Zoo de Baauval nearby and canoeing/Kayaking on the river Loire can be organised through reception.

SUMMER 2022

Les Saules
Pitches - good size pitches but the lack of pathways around the site meant that people were taking shortcuts through other pitches to get to the facilities. Sanitary Facilities - plentiful but could be cleaner OnSite bar / restaurant - reasonable Comments: Well placed for visiting the local chateaux of which there are plenty. The site has direct access to the cycle route which are good but could be better signposted. Too many unruly adults in the pool for our liking and perhaps for the safety of the children using the pool.

Lovely site in a great location

Les Saules
Lovely site with a very relaxing atmosphere. Immaculate toilets maintained to a very high standard. Appearance suggests these are brand new and have been clearly been well thought out. Plenty going on including bar, restaurant and takeaway as well as site shop. Good swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers but no parasols. We had a bad location for our pitch probably because we were only staying for a couple of nights, and were located next to the Motorhome emptying point, so we got the odd whiff of the drains. However that does not detract from the overall site layout and facilities. Great area for cycling and the wonderful Châteaux Cheverny less than a mile from the site. This will definitely be on our list to stay again and definitely for longer next time. Highly recommend. An excellent site.

Good site however

Les Saules
Their are 2 shower blocks which were immaculate however the newer block was open to the elements which during our stay was freezing. Told the restaurant was going to be open but it was only a takeaway menu which you could eat in there bar area. Nice swimming pool, the staff speak excellent English and are very friendly. Site is in a good location although you may have to travel some distances for some attractions.

A Family Friendly Site.

Les Saules
We enjoyed a lovely week the ambience of the site was all that one could wish for, everyone spoke to each other either to chat or just to pass the time of day, The staff were visible on site all day and created a very friendly atmosphere I only wish we had booked for the two weeks we were in the Loire instead of moving to another site further along the valley, the second site was ok but it was Company run and lacked the same atmosphere, it was as different as chaulk and cheese. We would like to visit again if France will allow us in after Brexit!!
