This pleasant green campsite is set next to a river in the small town of Bessé sur Baye. It's located south of Le Mans and handy for a stopover on long journeys.

The deviation into the countryside from the dual carriageway D357 towards Saint-Calais is well worth a visit.  The campsite offers an authentic Indian restaurant and is open every day except Mondays.

The municipal swimming pool is adjacent to the site and you can use this for free with coupons from reception.

There is a beautiful small château on the outskirts of the town which can be visited all year around. The grounds with its lake and gardens are peaceful and green to walk in and are an easy cycle or 30 mins walk from the campsite.

There is the Velo de Loire cycle path that leaves directly opposite the campsite and there are kms of cycle paths to neighbouring villages. One small village called Trôo is a troglodyte village with its ancient dwellings in the cave walls and it's classed as a "Petite cité de Caractère" along with Saint Calais also on the cycle path route.
