Why stay here ...

This site’s breath-taking views across South Limberg are what makes it a special place to stay. Set just 3km away from the village of Gulpen and midway between Maastricht and Aachen, it offers panoramic vistas and a range of amenities.

The large, level pitches are located on terraces and many have full services. In summer, it’s a haven for children, with an excellent swimming pool, sandy play area and a weekly entertainment programme. Meanwhile, an outdoor bar and restaurant terrace provides the perfect spot to enjoy the views.

There are several good walking trails around the site, and maps can be found in reception. Popular tourist destinations like Valkenburg, with its castle ruins, and the subterranean world of the Maastricht marl caves merit a visit.

Great site for a short stay but neighbouring outfits likely to be close to you in high season

Our final site for five nights in October and we had superb weather to compliment the views from our pitch of the South Limburg countryside. The other members review gives good advice about access and accessibility on site. The site is actually on top of a large flat plateau which overlooks the town of Gulpen and whilst there are many excellent paths down to the town, it is a steep climb back and that is not what you might expect from Holland. The toilet blocks are either small modern ones or a larger older building whch was fine and clean, but no sink plugs and both the ladies and the mens part link at the front so it easy to end up in the wrong side! The site restaurant is good although the menu choice a little restricted. If you have not been then a visit to nearby Valkenburg is highly recommended. Yes it is a bit commercialised but the centre, restaurants, castle and caves all make for a great day out. A different part of the Netherlands and easily accessible from the Channel ports.

A highly recommended addition to the Club's European Sites Selection

We stayed on this site for 8 nights in April 2018 and found it ideal for exploring S Limburg. We recommend following the directions on the site’s own website, leaving the N278 in the village at the Mosaqua (swimming pool) sign and following Landsraderweg up to the site. But whichever route you follow, the last 3kms require care when towing as the lanes are all narrow and uphill. There is a reason why the site is called Panorama Camping! The English speaking reception staff are welcoming and a mine of local information. The site is laid out on a terraced hillside so do study the layout carefully before leaving reception as terraces are all dead ends, making for a difficult manoeuvre if you have to turn round, as we did! The special pitches are on a flat grassy terrace looking out over undulating countryside, quite unlike the other parts of the NL we have visited. The toilet blocks are modern and clean but given the terrain are either up or down serious flights of steps, which could be a problem for some members. The childrens’ play area and pool are at the top of the site next to the shop and bar/restaurant, so that the pitching area remains quiet. A network of walking and cycle routes are accessible directly from the site and there is a regular bus service to Maastricht and Aachen from the nearby village. This has an excellent Plus supermarket with free parking up to noon, and a swimming pool (guests get a free pass).
