Excellent site
Camping Valkenburg-Maastricht
Stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of September 2023 during a late summer heatwave. The site is well equipped and well laid out. There is a lovely swimming pool complex with 2 pools and a paddling area. No life guard so children must be accompanied. Made full use of the pool during our stay owing to the heat! Sanitary facilities are adequate and kept clean.
Staff speak excellent English and are very helpful. You can order bread / croissants etc from reception to be delivered in the morning. Needless to say, they're a bit more expensive than they are at the bakery but that's the price of convenience!
It's a 2km walk downhill into Valkenburg, but obviously 2km uphill on the way back. Valkenburg is a pretty town but quite touristy. There is nothing but restaurants and bars on the main street, It has the only hilltop castle in the Netherlands!
From Valkenburg it's easy to get a train to nearby Maastricht, which is well worth a visit. You can also get a train to Aachen.
Would definitely stay here again/
