Buccaneer is part of the Explorer Group with sister brands, Compass, Elddis and Xplore. Originally based at Full Sutton, close to York, Buccaneer Caravans were launched in the late 1960s and produced over 8,600 caravans at their North Yorkshire factory. In late 1998 the brand was purchased by Elddis and production was transferred to Consett where it continues today, becoming part of the Erwin Hymer Group in 2017.
