Lunar Motorhomes

Lunar Motorhomes

Inspired by the 1969 mission to land on the moon, Brian Talbot and Ken Wilcock named their new caravan manufacturing business Lunar. They knew their caravans were exceptional but could not have possibly imagined the size that Lunar has become today. The company are extremely proud of their heritage and will celebrate their 50th birthday in 2019.

Lunar started building motorhomes in 1996 and also imported a number of motorhome brands built at the Lommel factory in Belgium, which were known in the UK under the brands of Home-Car and Champ. There was also the Ford Pinnacle, another motorhome from Lommel, and Lunar built up a network of dealers in the UK offering these brands. The Company temporarily ceased production of motorhomes in 2007 following a management buyout by Chairman and CEO Brian Mellor, but returned to the market in ernest back in 2013.

Lunar have won a total of five awards in our Motorhome Design Awards. Of these, three were won in 2014 – first for their Lunar Vacanza in the Micro Motor Caravans class and then the Lunar Landstar RL not only won Van Conversions from £40,000 to £50,000 but also the overall title too. In 2017 the Lunar Landstar RLS was awarded the Van Conversions over £59,000 class and, in 2018, Lunar Cassini EL was declared the winner of the Coachbuilts up to £45,000 category.
