Why stay here ...

CL of the Year Winners 2020 - third place

Cholsey Grange offers fabulous views of the Chiltern AONB from 5 fully-serviced hardstanding pitches. It is the ideal location for a holiday in the beautiful Chiltern Hills. We are 15 minutes East of Oxford and easy to access. We offer a warm welcome to our small farm of a few hundred acres. Families and well-behaved dogs are both welcome.

Before calling to book, please check out availability and book online via our website or follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with us and for late availability.

  • Hardstanding Serviced Pitches
  • Each pitch has 16 Amp EHU, water & grey waste with lighting for winter nights
  • Stunning views
  • Comprehensive information prior to arrival
  • Open all year
  • WiFi (free & fast)
  • Coded security gate with CCTV
  • Mapped dog walks direct from the site

  • Abundant wildlife & fabulous walking

We have mapped many walks around our farm and longer walks taking in local (dog friendly) village pubs and landmarks such as the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Windmill. There are also plenty of lovely local pubs and restaurants to visit in the evening.

On the farm we have horses, sheep and chickens (fresh eggs normally available). Wildlife is abundant. We'll be surprised if you don't spot Red Kites, Fallow Deer or hear our Barn Owls.

Apart from admiring the view and watching wildlife there is plenty to do nearby that will cater for all taste. Explore neighbouring villages where TV Series and films such as 'Endeavour', 'Killing Eve', The Vicar of Dibley', 'Midsomer Murders', 'Goodnight Mr Tom' and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' were filmed.

There are many National Trust properties nearby including Nuffield Place, Grey Court, West Wycombe, Cliveden and Waddesdon. For families, we are close to the Roald Dahl museum, Bekonskot model village, Legoland and Thorpe Park. The 'Rush' Trampoline centre in High Wycombe is popular with teenagers as is the 'Go Ape' zip-wire course in Wendover.

Local towns such as Henley-on-Thames and Marlow provide lots of interest and walks alongside the River Thames. Visit Garsington Opera, Henley Regatta or Henley Festival.

Oxford and Reading are both within 30 minutes and West London is just 40 minutes away from High Wycombe train station.

We provide you with comprehensive information prior to arrival regarding the many attractions and circular walks from the CL. Try out our new interactive CL Visitor Map.

Brilliant location

Cholsey Grange
This site is a real gem, easily accessible from M40, full services pitches with beautiful views. Lots of walks and cycling from site. Pitches are roomy and all face the same way so everyone enjoys the view. Hate to the woods walk needs some attention bashed my legs on it! However it is a site we have been to twice and would definitely return to. Barn cafe worth a visit despite the steep hills on route, we were cycling. Book well in advance, easy to do on the web site as it is very popular. Lots of info provided by the owner.

Just what is needed

Cholsey Grange
Great site in a position which gives easy access to Henley on Thames, Marlow and Windsor among others. Very relaxing with fully serviced level pitches. Stayed here for 7 nights. The numerous red kites flying overhead were magnificent. Would highly recommend this CL.

Perfect

Cholsey Grange
We had 9 nights here in September, the site is all we could wish for, fantastic views and serviced pitch, ideal in every way for us. Stunning views, great walks, Sloes from the hegerows ( asked permission) to maintain homemade Gin stocks. Ted and family really nice hosts. Now booking for next year. Bull and Butcher in Turville worth a visit for award winning pies The Chiltern winery and brewery also well worth an evening tour visit at £20 a head. Book in advance to ensure you can experience the tasting session, sadly one of us had to drive though! Laceys farm shop has some great produce and not too far away. Stokenchurch Chinese and Fish and Chip shop served great food and the Small Tesco shop very convenient. In striking distance of Blenheim Palace where we enjoyed the horse trials. Up the M40, the British Motor. Museum at Gaydon worth a visit. Also experienced Diddly Squat Farm Shop, just under an hour away and then onto Bourton on the Water for lunch. Plenty more to see, so looking forward to the next stay already.

One to return to

Cholsey Grange
Stayed here for 3 nights and really not long enough a stay to fully appreciate the area. Ideal spot for visiting Henley on Thames and Legoland. Lovely views from pitches with kites flying overhead and deers seen in adjoining field. Make sure you follow the recommended best route to the site (off M 40) as we went by car into Henley and part of the route the sat nav took us was bit hairy to say the least. Definitely a cl to return to.

Superb Site

Cholsey Grange
We have just returned from a five night stay at Cholsey Grange which must be one of the best sites that we have stayed on. Lovely views and excellent facilities. Good website with booking online and comprehensive information supplied by the owners. All hardstandings with water and electricity to each pitch and fast free Wi-Fi is an added bonus. Highly recommended.
