Huntingdon Certificated Locations

Huntingdon is an historic town with a royal charter dating back to the days of King John in 1205. It has a long association with rulers, from being the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell to the parliamentary seat of John Major.

Those interested in the life and times of Cromwell can visit the only museum dedicated to the famous civil war leader, while a self-guided town walk takes in many buildings associated with him, as well as various medieval churches and other buildings dating back centuries. The museum is located in the old grammar school where Samuel Pepys studied.

History buffs can also see the medieval bridge that still crosses the River Ouse today. This watercourse offers some fine walking and boat trips.

Sports fans can enjoy the action at Huntingdon Racecourse.
