The town of Redruth in Cornwall sits at the heart of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site and is a great place from which to explore the natural beauty of this part of the world.
It is at the centre of the Mineral Tramways, which run across the site and can be explored on foot, horseback or two wheels. Running from Newquay to St Ives, they offer breathtaking views of the north coast.
In the town itself are a wide range of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, while located nearby are three beaches - Porthtowan, Chapel Porth and Portreath beach - offering golden sands.
