October half term break

Marstage Farm
We enjoyed our stay at the simple CL (no EHU) and for £7/night it is great value. Contrary to earlier reviews, the toilet emptying facilities were fine. I presume that they have been improved/updated as there was a clean and modern emptying point with lid, and a tap to rinse your cassette. There was also a hand sanitiser dispenser close by. It is a huge field and we were told they were happy for people to pitch anywhere, so we kept a large distance between us and the two other caravan on site while we were there. We enjoyed the view of sheep in the adjoining field and hills beyond. It's very quiet and peaceful. It is a 10 minute drive to Croyde's beaches and Saunton Sands (we went surfing there). It is also 5 minutes from a big Tesco. The entrance is on a slight slope and got muddy quite quickly during our wet stay, which could make entering the site more challenging. A motorhome got stuck in the mud, but someone arrived from the site with a 4X4 to help. We also had traction problems getting away from our pitch, but some pushing from the family got us going. We'd definitely recommend staying here if you're fine off-grid for a few days.

A Great Place to Stay for all the family.

Marstage Farm
This site is a very peaceful place, with all round views and set in a lovely part of Devon. Plenty of places to see, and good access to beaches. The toilet is still an open ditch, but hey, you live with it because its such a nice place to stay.

14 days of total relaxation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight summer holiday. 360° views, which are wonderful, bring your binoculars. Easy walk into Braunton and walks straight from site on to the coastal path along the estuary. Caught a nice 5lb bass at Crow point and cooked it on the BBQ, delicious. What terrific value. Please don't ever add EHU. The chemical waste point? I can live with it, not ideal but ok. We are off in the morning, don't want to go. In the words of Arnie "I'll be back". Enough said!

Lovely scenery

Marstage Farm
Just came back from a week stay on this cl and I have to say the scenery is magnificent, the tidal estuary is only across the road and a toll road follows this for miles. The toll even covers push bikes at 20p. Lots of sky larks there when we were and they came quite close to the caravan. The field is very large and a strip was mowed along one side for the pitches. The grass could have been shorter especially as we had some rain. The site is advertised at 5 acres and that is one reason we booked it. The space available for outfits (unless you wanted to park in knee high grass) was much smaller but still with enough space. Whilst we were there we had an almost constant cold wind (there are windmills close by so it must be regularly windy). The biggest drawback was the chemical disposal. This consisted of a plastic or metal chute into an open ditch which had a sheet of metal over it. (Glad it wasn't hot weather). The disposal point is about three feet off the ground, many elderly of infirm prople would have difficulty in lifting the toilet container this high to empty it. Overall a nice location, lots of cycle rides in fact the whole area seems very cycle friendly. Wouldn't go back because of the toilet disposal.
