A perfect site in Dartmoor!

Holeacre
We visited here for just over a week and it met all of our needs. Easy access just a couple of miles off the A30. Particularly liked the location as it was far enough from the main roads to be peaceful. You get a few cars coming down the country road in the day but none in the evening so we had a very good sleep every night! The views across the valley are really nice and the site itself is very well maintained. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had one small issue which was a electricity charge on top of the £18 per night which we were not aware. However, it is only an extra £0.29 a unit, for us in a large caravan this equalled an extra £3 a day. I believe this is due to people using a lot more electric in winter due to the need for heating. There is easy access to Exeter down the A30 whilst also only being 30 minutes from the coast. We would love to come back as we had a fantastic stay!

A beautiful tranquil spot

Holeacre
A beautiful basic CL but it felt like so much more. Lovely helpful owners and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. No shower or toilet but that's fine. Good level grass pitches both with and without EHU. Very reasonable £18 with EHU or £14 without. Views to die for from every pitch and a huge field for dogs to run in. Great walks from the site. I hope to return sometime.

Stunning location - just follow the directions, not sat nav

Holeacre
Enjoyed a lovely stay here; absolutely beautiful location on a hill with long views out to Dartmoor. Very friendly welcome from the owner who clearly takes great pride in the upkeep and appearance of the site. This is a very quiet site with great views but not much else to hand; perfect for a quiet relaxing stay on the doorstep of Dartmoor. There are two ways to approach this site, which is located on a very narrow single track lane. You can approach from the north east with ease in a campervan or pulling a caravan, as there are numerous long passing places and a very wide entrance gate. OR you can try and approach from the south west following sat nav or Google maps if you're already inside Dartmoor. And this will take you along miles of very narrow lanes with plants brushing both sides of your campervan, and is completely impossible with a caravan, given the bear total lack of passing places. So, read the instructions and head in from the north east and enjoy one of the loveliest stays imaginable. Can't wait to return.

Amazing views from this lovely, level, clean and tidy site. Warm welcome from owners and lots of useful, local information available from the site shed. Walking distance from Dunsford Nature Reserve with its woodland walks. Will definitely be returning.
