Why stay here ...

'Four Winds' is located in the New Forest village of Godshill within the National Park. We have unspoilt views of the forest where ponies and cattle are able to graze freely. An excellent location for walking, horse riding, cycling and exploring the forest.

We have an adults only, 0.7 acres site of lawned flat field, easy to locate off the B3078 and access with your caravan. There are electrical hook-ups, space for awnings and an emptying point for chemical toilets.  Sorry we are not able to accept dogs on this site.

The site is an 8 minute walk (0.5 miles) to the village store and leisure centre and 1 minute walk to the local pub. Our nearest town is Fordingbridge (2.2 miles) away and there are several bus stops throughout the village enabling travel north and south.

From July to September the New Forest Hop on Hop off Tour Bus (Red Route) runs through the village taking you to numerous villages and attractions joining up with other tour bus routes in Lyndhurst.

Driving distances to local amenities:

  • 2 minutes (0.5 miles) to Sandy Balls Leisure centre with a restaurant, cafe, pub, village shop, games arcade and Farmers market (dates available on New Forest).
  • 4 minutes (1 mile) to Arniss Farm Riding Stables.
  • 7 minutes (3.8 miles) to the New Forest Water Park for sports and fishing.
  • 13 minutes (7.1 miles) to Brook, Bramshaw Golf Club.
  • 29 minutes (11.2 miles) to Salisbury market town, Wiltshire with Salisbury cathedral.
  • 30 minutes (19.3 miles) to Bournemouth, Dorset with Bournemouth beach, oceanarium and the BIC centre.

Great location

A welcome board was left out for us with pitch number etc on. The B road is busy as other reviewers have said but we chose this site for accessible roads and views so noise from the road is an acceptable trade off. I suspect the road is much quieter out of peak season. Have to disagree with previous reviewer about site layout. Yes the road is behind pitches but so is a hedge protecting you from the wind and martins were constantly swooping low over the grass clearly visible from the caravan. The owners told us there is usually space available; I think this is probably because the site doesn’t take dogs. A about 200 yards along the road from the site is a cattle grid. The other side of the cattle grid are the horses and land scape the new forest is famous for.

Beautifully kept but noisy road

This site is in a more hilly part of the New Forest; it is well kept and tidy (visitors need to be self sufficient with toilet and showers). However, we personally found the road too noisy late into the night, and early hours of the morning, both with fast cars and people from the nearly holiday camp, walking to and from the pub. The pitches are only on the road side of the field, if they had been on the other side it would have been quieter and we would have had lovely views.

Gem of a new site.

We stayed at this lovely site in June, Welcome board was out with options where to pitch. Edie the cat came to make our acquaintance while we set up, later Linda arrived with a very comprehensive information box. Facilities are excellent and the site is tidy with a well maintained and mown lawn well kept by Charlie. The B road can be quite busy at times but quietens down in the evening, and the views across the valley more than compensate for this. Location is excellent for access to the Forrest with some great walks and cycle routes, close to local Pub and short drive to Fordingbridge. Lynda keeps a few chickens and sells the eggs, which are delicious!

First visit to a C L site

Our First visit to a C L site and we were very impressed. Our welcome was great and the box containing info was very good .We went on a couple of bike rides into the New Forest. Also went to Fording bridge and used the buses to Bournemouth and Salisbury. Enjoyed a meal at The George at Fording bridge, very good . Even being close to road ,we did not hear any noise. The eggs on sale were great. Many thanks to Linda and Charlie

GREAT LOCATION.

We have just arrived and were welcomed with a personal sign inside the gates. We had a choice of 3 pitches, all stunning views. When we met Lynda she greeted us and presented us with an array of local attractions and walks and was very welcoming. What a great start for an awesome place. :-)
