Why stay here ...

A lovely well kept CL for adults only on a small 13 acre farm in the centre of the Isle of Wight with far reaching countryside views. Our land is all grass and we have two pet sheep which are kept in a small paddock.

The site itself is lawned, looks level but there is a very slight incline. It has electric hook-ups, purpose built chemical emptying points and recycling facility. There is plenty of space for awnings. Access to the CL is good and the land is well compacted sandy free draining soil so we have no problems with flooding.

The site is a perfect central base for touring the Island and we are within easy reach of all the Island towns, beaches and other attractions. The main town of Newport with many supermarkets is 4 miles from us. There is a local shop within 2 miles. The quintessential English village of Godshill with its delightful medieval church and a winding main street lined with tearooms and restaurants is only 2.5 miles away. Guests may also be interested to visit the award winning Isle of Wight Steam Railway at Havenstreet which is around 5 miles from the site. Osborne House at East Cowes a residence of Queen Victoria with its very own private beach (now open to the public in 2012) is 7.5 miles from the site.

There are local course fishing lakes (within a mile), and the main Cowes to Sandown (via Newport) cycle track is just a few yards up the lane. This is an easy ride being a properly surfaced former railway line. There are plenty more challenging rides around the island should you wish and of course endless scope for enjoying countryside walks direct from the site.

There is a frequent bus service in the village.

We regret that no dogs are allowed.

Lovely site

This is a lovely site. Plenty of space and easy access even for our very large van. The facilities are clearly marked and well kept. There are some lovely cycle ways close by, and it’s very easy to get around the island. Highly recommend

Just Wonderful.

Just returned from a two week tranquil caravan beam in this peaceful setting. Barbara was so welcoming and friendly and her Son was very helpful. The bus stop down the lane ran every 30 minutes so we ditched the car and travelled the whole holiday in the bus. The site was so quiet you only had nature sounds around. Many nights were spent star gazing in the amazing night sky. Immaculate clean well kept site. Thank you Barbara for an amazing holiday . We will definitely be back. I miss it already .

Wonderful site

We have just spent two weeks at Bury Lane Farm and it is truly wonderful. Barbara welcomes you and makes you feel more than welcome. The site is extremely clean and well kept, it is central to most of the locations on the island. The bus stops are not to far to walk, which makes to a carefree holiday of little driving. We shall certainly return.

Peaceful, well maintained CL

Central location on the island and easy to find, just yards from the Cycleway! Great views from the lawned peaceful site. EHU for each pitch and water tap centrally located to all five pitches. Bins and chemical disposal point clean and tidy, in a separate are of the site. No dogs allowed and adult only site. They have two pet sheep who are very friendly. Owner helpful and has lots of information about the island, will definitely stay again.

Ease of arrival/welcome

Easy to get to lots of places.

We stayed here in September and found a well run CL. Easy to get to even with our large caravan, roads are wide enough for buses, so plenty big enough, last 100 yards are slightly narrower but only saw a couple of vehicles using it during the stay. Got a number of leaflets from Barbara, chosen to our particular interests. Shown to our pitch and was impressed with the way that Barbara looks after the site. Buses are a short walk away in the village and go to Newport or Shanklin. From Newport you can get a bus to most of the Island. There is cycle way/ footpath into Newport, level and easy walk. Would we go back? Yes please.
