Why stay here ...

Little Orchard is set amongst many acres of farmland in the west of Norfolk. The site itself occupies 0.75 acres of flat grassland with apple, pear and plum trees to one end. There is a small pond with Indian Runner ducks and hens in an enclosed area. All pitches are grass, have electric hook up and are well spread out with views across open farmland to the south west. The site is secluded. Dogs and other pets are always very welcome. The wildlife here is lovely and can often be observed from the comfort of your caravan. DEFRA countryside walks are on the doorstep and there is a small nature reserve one mile's walk from the site.

The site is really well situated as it offers not only easy access to the beautiful Norfolk coast but also to the fens and wetlands to the west and the lovely cities of Cambridge and Ely, both well worth a visit. Sandringham House is a 20 minute drive due North, there are often events held in the beautiful grounds. The National Trust property of Oxborough Hall is just a 10 minute drive, famous for its Priest's Hole (as seen on the Antiques Roadshow). Open air productions of Shakespeare are performed here during the summer months. Easy access to both market towns of Swaffham and Downham Market for shopping etc. Post Office / filling station in the village less than an minute's drive.

Our information cabin is now complete which houses a comprehensive library of information regarding the local area. Homemade cakes available for sale with free range eggs and garden produce when available. Fresh home baked bread to order / morning newspapers.

We aim to provide a very relaxed, friendly, informal atmosphere here at Little Orchard and will be happy to help you in any way to make your stay with us a memorable one. We look forward to hearing from you.

A Charming Site

Little Orchard
The owners were away when we arrived but had told us exactly where we could park and also had left an information booklet which had all been communicated beforehand. They came to visit us as soon as they got back to ensure we'd settled in ok. The pitches on the site are very generous with lots of shrubs for privacy and the addition of a table and chairs on each pitch was a lovely touch. We were here during a heatwave so were outside more than we were inside. There is an information room which is generously equipped with leaflets about local attractions, books, furniture and a t.v. There are free range chickens and ducks who wander the site, and can materialise seemingly from nowhere when you sit down to eat!! Their eggs are for sale too. The grass of the actual pitches was well-mown and the cut grass raked away, no mean feat when the temperatures are in the upper 20s, possibly higher. The site is handy for just about everywhere by road and also provides access to a small network of local footpaths and a modest wildlife area run by the parish. It's surrounded by fields on 4 sides and there is an abundance of flora and fauna to be seen. The only niggle, and this is no reflection on the site owners at all, is it can be a bit noisy. The access to everywhere comes at a cost and this is a busy A road which is the other side of the horse paddock and which was clearly audible throughout the day (although quieter at night). We may have noticed it more because it was so hot we had to have our windows open all day and night. Also on the first 3 days there were jets landing and taking off at RAF Marham nearby and the noise of their engines was earsplitting as they were so low. However what an opportunity to plane spot if that is an interest for you! Again, the jets didn't fly at night and after the 3 days we didn't hear them for the rest of the week. We thoroughly recommend this site and enjoyed our week's stay here.

Cracking little CL!

Little Orchard
Beautiful little CL with free roaming chickens and ducks. Lots of wildlife, birds, squirrels and rabbits. We stayed for one night only on our way to Snetterton circuit for BTCC so can’t really comment on local amenities but, coming from the Norfolk coast and passing by here often we were delighted to find this hidden gem. We will be back for a longer stay!

Just perfect

Little Orchard
Very local site for us. Very warm welcome from Caroline &Paul. No problems with a twin axle but when you arrive it is just so pretty table & chairs on every pitch. Summerhouse with information television & computer to use. Very dog friendly there are chickens & ducks on site was very surprised my dog's didn't take any notice. Look forward to returning next year.

Not to be missed!

Little Orchard
Our stay at Little Orchard has been great, the welcome and attention to detail on this site is second to none. The pitches and site is immaculate, there is a small table and chairs at each pitch, information room, fresh eggs, offers of fresh bread and newspapers... what’s not to like! Very friendly site and the area is beautiful, do not write off West Norfolk, we spent three days cycling, Denver Sluice area offers river and glorious views with lots of birds. We heard our first cuckoo this year, saw lapwings from our pitch and enjoyed a good display from a Red Kite. We will certainly be returning.
