Why stay here ...

We are a lovely quiet rural location in the heart of North Norfolk. A 20 minute drive from the North Norfolk coastline, which includes the sandy beaches of Cromer - with its infamous pier- and Sherringham. A bit further out you’ll find the very popular and beautiful beach and coastal town of Wells.

20 minutes in the opposite direction will take you into the heart of the historical city of Norwich, home to Norwich castle and the medieval Anglican Cathedral and the gothic Roman Catholic cathedral of St John the Baptist. As well as it famous medieval market.

In our immediate area there our two pubs the listed Bell Inn, a family friendly pub or the chic and cosy Ratcatchers for something a bit more special. Our village is also home the Dual stone monument - the site of Norfolks last dual in 1698. In and around Cawston there are many public rites of way and foot pathing including Cawston Heath- a favourite with dog walkers and Marriets Way - an old rail track leading to the beautiful market towns of Reepham and Aylsham. Also close is Blickling Hall - mentioned in the doomsday’s book and was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.
