Great, but so much potential

Meadow Farm Heath Road
This is a nice quiet site. We have just spent 13 nights here, and had the site to ourselves for all bar four nights (when the site still had two free pitches). However the site is run by people who don't really understand caravans and a few things about our stay made that obvious. It's clear that the holiday barns are their focus. Entrance to the site is tight for long units, but once here the pitches are large and mostly level. Each pitch has EHU and water, with drainage to the ditch. Great water pressure and very stable electric supply. Half the site had no EHU when we arrived so we only had the choice of the side that had no evening sun. Absolutely zero dog walks on or near the site, so we just walked round the site field for morning wees. Location is very handy for Hickling Broad nature reserve - 20mins walk or 15mins drive. Also handy for most of the Broads. If you have dogs then Sea Palling and Winterton beaches are good all year round, and Blickling House has lovely woods. Weavers’ Way (park at Bengate) and Paston Way are both also great for dog (and Human) walks. Site does have laundry facilities, however these are for the exclusive use of the holiday barns. To us this seemed a shame; we are away for seven weeks so would gladly pay to use them, whereas most people using the holiday lets will be away for just a week and won’t need to wash clothes. Each pitch has two bins, but no clue as to what each bin is for, and no recycling facilities. Throwing away plastic food trays felt very wrong. Nice site, good location, friendly owners, but could be improved through the lens of a caravanner.

Maybe we were just unfortunate

Meadow Farm Heath Road
We have to agree with the many compliments that other users have left but unfortunately at the very end of our stay, we were made to feel very uncomfortable. At 25 minutes to 11 o’clock, the owner arrived with his lawnmower and another person to clear the bins from our pitch, saying that he needed to mow the grass because Mrs X, always arrives at 11.00 on the dot. He proceeded to mow around us as we finished packing away, leaving a very unpleasant feeling after what has been a lovely break until then. I don’t think we had done anything wrong; we had complied with all the owners rules including taking some of our rubbish offsite to reduce the fees they are charged (and pass on to customers … as they say in their site rules leaflet). We appreciate this is their livelihood and I am sorry to leave this negative feedback on this point but felt compelled to do so.

Just lovely

Meadow Farm Heath Road
Peaceful and quiet cl, loads of space and massive pitches/space between each unit. Grass is kept short and collected. Owners not intrusive at all but there if you need anything. Totally recommend this lovely site, we will definitely return, time and time again!

Peaceful CL

Meadow Farm Heath Road
Another great find on out touring trip around Norfolk. Phoning ahead we were given full instructions on how to find the site our pitch number by very friendly owner and , due to covid-19, the procedures in place in follow, total contactless booking in, the owners had this spot on. The site is flat with well cut grass and hedgerows, better than my back garden, there is plenty of space, in fact its huge, each pitch has EHU, Water, rubbish & recycling bins, all of which were disinfected each day by owners. The site is very peaceful, would certainly visit again if we were in the area and would recommend.
