Why stay here ...

The Stables CL is a large family run site in the grounds of our home, located in the meadow in front of our newly renovated cottage with beautiful views across the fields, where you can enjoy peace and quiet and a restful stay. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen including deer, owls and in season the swallows to name but a few.

We are open all year round and welcome well behaved dogs and children.

Our large, flat pitches positioned in the old paddocks all have full services including 16amp hook-up, water tap and grey water drains.

Onsite we have chemical waste disposal point, refuse and recycling points, a visitor information board and a washing machine available upon request.

We are conveniently located in the quiet village of Forncett St Peter which provides a central location from which to explore all the unspoilt beauty that Norfolk has to offer. The Norfolk Broads, famous for the wonderful sand beaches and coastline, the City of Norwich with it’s historic castle, Thetford Forest and the market towns of Wymondham, Diss and Harleston are just a sample of what a holiday in Norfolk has to offer and can be accessed easily from The Stables.

We are very fortunate to have multiple public footpaths in each direction from the site and an abundance of country roads for a leisurely bike ride or keen cyclists among you.

We are a short walk from the local pub ’The Jolly Farmers’ 3/4 mile with ‘The Boars’ in Spooner Row; both offering quality ale and delicious food. Our local shop in Bunwell is 2 miles away, with Days Garage and Fuel Station, and Supermarkets, Train Station, The Abbey and Market town in Wymondham 5 miles everything is close at hand.

Advanced booking required. For further information please call or email and join us in the Norfolk countryside where a warm welcome is assured and for the start of what we hope will be many visits.

A little gem of a CL

The Stables
What a fabulous CL The Stables is. Beautifully kept grounds with lots of space between us. Serviced pitch and a superb, warm, shower and toilet for our exclusive use. We were alone a lot of the time as it was November but the site is so quiet as surrounded by countryside. Our neighbours were resident Little owls and pheasants that were roaming around. Sue welcomed us on arrival day and explained what was around for us to visit. We had a little issue with surface water around the van due to an excess of rainfall, but it was soon sorted. Paul visited us on our last day as he'd been out all week with work, but both Sue and Paul were fabulous hosts and we will definitely visit again. Keep up the great work Sue & Paul!

Wonderful CL

The Stables
Just spent 16 days at this fantastic CL all fully serviced pitches but the shower and toilet facilties on the site are hotel quality, regularly cleaned and checked. The site itself is beautifully maintained with well cut grass and all the cuttings are collected so non of the cut grass getting into the caravan - a big bonus for us. There is lot of wildlife around the site, including an owl. Overall a brilliant and fantastic CL with a reasonable price tag. Thank you to Paul, Sue and ise for looking after us, and thank you to Geoff and Lynn who did a sterling job whilst the owners had a short break. Love this site, we will be back.

Paradise

The Stables
We had read previous reviews and we were not let down, this is a little piece of paradise. Extremely quiet, fully serviced pitches, perfectly maintained, in fact they never stop. Nice big open field to exercise your dogs and a lovely toilet/shower room. The owners Paul and Sue cannot do enough to help you and nothing is a problem, very welcoming and friendly in fact they make you like part of the family. Booked again for next year and would recommend this site to anyone.

Benchmark Site

The Stables

The only downside of my review is that I can only put 5 stars. If i could put 10 stars for this CL site then it would get 10..... No hesitation. This site really does set the bar high!! Don't just take my word for it. Look at the reviews everywhere, they all say the same thing :) Book and see for yourself how nice it is.... Welcoming,  Spotless facilities, Helpful, Spacious, Very quiet & peaceful, Great dog exercise field, 5 Fully serviced pitches ..... Even a washing a machine! Can't wait to retutn Thanks

Amazing Site

The Stables
Well....what a fabulous site! Easily the best we have been to in our 4 years of using CLs. Access was easy with our 8ft wide van. There are 5 large, level, fully serviced pitches, 2 grass and 3 hardstanding, with room on grass for an awning. They seem happy for you to park facing whichever direction suits you rather than in regimented rows. All pitches are surrounded with lots of grass and plenty of space between pitches so you get the full benefit of all day sun, including the early morning and evening. Lovely lawned outlook (the pictures really do not do this site justice). Dog friendly with a large dog exercise area (I have been on CLs that were a lot less than half the size of this dog field). Toilet and shower facilities were modern and clean. The owners Sue, Paul and family have put their heart and souls into this site and boy does it show! We spent 10 nights there and despite both working, they were out every spare minute making sure the grounds were kept pristine for their guests. They take a genuine pride in what they have built up over the last 3 years and should be extremely proud. There is also a self catering 1 bed barn conversion with hot tub, if you want to holiday with non caravan family members, with another 2 bed that should be ready soon. I was lucky enough to get a look at the work in progress.....and its clear it will be a huge assett to their business. If I had one complaint, or actually 2, its that you cant do seasonal on a CL, and that its a little too far away from us for a cheeky weekend visit. BUT we will definitely be back!
