Why stay here ...

Bob and Bernadette look forward to welcoming you to their site.

Welcome to Summertree Farm. Our CL is situated on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors just 2 miles south of the charming village of Thornton Le Dale. The CL is off a quiet lane in a 1.3 acre level grass paddock with beautiful views. We are open throughout the year and we welcome adults, children and dogs. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead while on site. Electrical hook-ups are on all pitches and are located on the far side of the field to provide a tranquil setting and to maximise the views of the moors and the Dalby Forrest. The nearest Pub, the New Inn at Thornton Le Dale is just 2 miles up the road; they serve good food, provide a warm welcome and you can take your dog in the bar too! Thornton has a wide range of quality shops including: Post Office/News Agents, Bakery, Butchers, Café, Gift Shop, Gallery, Antiques and The Chocolate Factory – yum!

Our CL provides a perfect base for couples or families looking to explore North Yorkshire and the pretty villages dotted around the North Yorkshire Moors. As well as picturesque Thornton-le-Dale, a few miles away there is the North Yorkshire Moors Railway based in the attractive market town of Pickering (market day is Monday), Flamingo Land, Eden Camp the live WW2 Museum near to Malton, Dalby Forest and the Moors for breathtaking walks or bike rides. Castle Howard is a must visit along with Rievaulx Abbey at Helmsley. The delightful walled-city of York and the breath-taking coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey are only about a 25 minute drive or train ride away. Alternatively you could just park-up, kick off your shoes and open a nice bottle of wine whilst enjoying the views!

For those who have not yet taken up caravanning, or who have family or friends that are looking for somewhere to stay we have two Self-Catering Holiday Cottages, please contact us for availability.

What’s not to like

Just going to add this to our favourites list after a 5 night stay , spacious flat pitches , very well maintained and nice friendly owners . In the heart of the Yorkshire country side and just 2 miles from an extremely pretty village. Lots of attractions to suit many tastes close by. What’s not to like!

Idyllic CL

Just back from a 7 night stay at this CL. Excellent location for exploring the North York Moors and the coast from Bridlington to Whitby. The site is easily accessable from the A64 and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend and we will certainly be looking to stay here again in the not too distant future.

Lovely relaxing holiday at delightful CL site

Just returned from a lovely relaxing week at Summertree Farm CL Caravan site . The site is immaculate, level ground and very well maintained. Bob & Bernadette very welcoming and helpful, site ideally located for visits to the coast, Castle Howard, York, Malton ( pretty market town) Flamingo Park , North York Moors, and the picturesque village of Thornton-le-Dale. Excellent farm shop/cafe nearby ‘Cedarbarns’. Highly recommend this site, we will be back !

Peaceful Stay

We've just returned after a six night stay, we did want seven nights but with this being a popular CL the seventh was not available to us. Access to the site is good, we approached from Malton the roads are good, I made sure I moved to the other side of the road to swing into the entrance. Once inside the entrance access to the CL field is good and we were met as we entered the field and given a useful information sheet. In the current situation it was nice to have a large container of hand sanitiser adjacent to the gate into the CL field. There are footpaths adjacent to the site but we went further afield for our walks, up on the moors. The nearest fuel we found was in PIckering and the nearest local shops in Thornton Le Dale. The CL is a large level field and we enjoyed a very peaceful stay.
