Why stay here ...

Bob and Bernadette look forward to welcoming you to their site.

Welcome to Summertree Farm. Our CL is situated on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors just 2 miles south of the charming village of Thornton Le Dale. The CL is off a quiet lane in a 1.3 acre level grass paddock with beautiful views. We are open throughout the year and we welcome adults, children and dogs. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead while on site. Electrical hook-ups are all located on the far side of the field to provide a tranquil setting and to maximise the views of the moors and the Dalby Forrest. The nearest Pub, the New Inn at Thornton Le Dale is just 2 miles up the road; they serve good food, provide a warm welcome and you can take your dog in the bar too! Thornton has a wide range of quality shops including: Post Office/News Agents, Bakery, Butchers, Café, Gift Shop, Gallery, Antiques and The Chocolate Factory – yum!

Our CL provides a perfect base for couples or families looking to explore North Yorkshire and the pretty villages dotted around the North Yorkshire Moors. As well as picturesque Thornton-le-Dale, a few miles away there is the North Yorkshire Moors Railway based in the attractive market town of Pickering (market day is Monday), Flamingo Land, Eden Camp the live WW2 Museum near to Malton, Dalby Forest and the Moors for breathtaking walks or bike rides. Castle Howard is a must visit along with Rievaulx Abbey at Helmsley. The delightful walled-city of York and the breath-taking coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey are only about a 25 minute drive or train ride away. Alternatively you could just park-up, kick off your shoes and open a nice bottle of wine whilst enjoying the views!

For those who have not yet taken up caravanning, or who have family or friends that are looking for somewhere to stay we have two Self-Catering Holiday Cottages, please contact us for availability.

Relaxation

Booked this cl for its location and glad we did as it is peaceful and relaxing. Location was spot on for what we wanted for Pickering and the coast. Lots to see and do in the area. Very warm welcome from the owners who gave good advice of where to eat. All grass pitches and plenty of space between units. Although we had rain most days for our week stay the ground was well drained with no problems at all. Would definitely stay here again when we come to this area of Yorkshire. Thank you to the owners for a lovely site.

Lovely

Bob and Bernadette were so welcoming and helpful. Very spacious, level site. The field was well kept and clean. We've just come home after enjoying 5 nights here and recommend it to other members if you are looking for somewhere lovely to stay in this area. Can't wait to visit again.

Lovely little site

We stayed at this peach of a site from Monday to Friday with our two dogs and had a wonderful stay. Very flat, well cut site. Easy to enter and exit. Bob came to introduce himself and his advice of the surrounding area was very useful. The site is very local to Pickering and the quaint village of Thornton-le-Dale. A nice farm track to walk the dogs was available over the road from the site. Overall, a great little site which we will definitely revisit if we are in that locality again.
