Foss Dyke is a peaceful site located on the edge of the village of Bishopthorpe which has many amenities such as several pubs, shops, hairdressers, chemist etc. It is conveniently close to a Park and Ride, the local bus route and large supermarket, and close to a public cycle path which leads you to York's city centre and to the town of Selby.
Each generously sized grass pitch has electricity and drinking water, and is adjacent to our own pine woodland which you are welcome to explore. In spring the park becomes adorned with daffodils and bluebells. We are very fortunate to have a variety of wildlife on and around the caravan park so be sure too look out for them. Often spotted are squirrels, foxes, deer, owls and buzzards. Limited hard-standing also available.
This CL is only 3 miles from the city of York, a beautiful city with many attractions - York Minster, Jorvick Viking Centre, Clifford's Tower and National Railway Museum just to name a few. We are also only an hours drive away from the East Coast, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors which hosts the North York Moors Railway with magnificent steam engines and beautiful rural stations.
York is a Christmas shopping heaven with its mix of shops and wonderful Christmas markets throughout York's atmospheric streets. The festive shopping starts off with the ever popular St Nicholas Market which usually begins at the end of November and continues until just before Christmas. The bustling Victorian market stalls sell everything from local produce to traditional gifts and crafts, all accompanied by the smell of roasting chestnuts and the sound of carol singers.
Not only is the Christmas market very popular, York hosts regular European and local Farmer's Markets on a regular basis throughout the year.
We welcome well behaved dogs but request that they are kept on leads at all times.
There is a park and ride 1.5 miles away which take you to the centre of York.

What a lovely find, we had another site near York booked but dropped on this Narnia site, only 30 mins from home, easy to find and access Gillian was waiting on arrival to explain everything and lead us to the hard standing plot with it's own electric and water, it would have been lovely to be on the grassed part of the site but as Gillian explained the grass was extremely wet, the reason I say Narnia is because as you go through the electric gates and follow the drive it opens up into a stunning clearing with trees and wildlife not at all expected but lovely and peaceful, there is slight road noise from the A64 but it did not bother us, as others have stated it's about a 10 minute walk to the village with a small coop and pubs, York itself is about a 15 min drive, you also close to the designer outlet, will defo rebook in better weather for the walk onto York down the river bank, thankyou Gillian.
