Peaceful

The Village Field
Arrival at site was quite straightforward. Pitches were basic but adequate. All usuals facilities water, EHU, chemical disposal. Very quiet site, spacious & handy for A1. Village very quaint with pub 10 minute walk - alas no shop now as it has recently closed. Good value for what you get nowadays.

Peaceful basic site

The Village Field
The site is easy to find following the directions in the book. It is a field with an open aspect and basic facilities. Although hardstandings are advertised, these were not apparent. We were confused about how to pay until one of the other campers pointed out a small notice pinned up near the tap. The farm house is not the obvious one, but is half a mile up the road and difficult to find. We did manage to find the farm eventually and paid the owner who said, "Thanks". At £16 a night, it seemed a little overpriced for the standard offered. We stayed two nights and Newark is well worth a visit, as is the Workhouse near Southwell (National Trust). If you're into clocks, there is also a Museum of Timekeeping at Upton. Useful stopping off point on a northward journey, close to the A1.

The most peaceful site ever!

The Village Field
This was by far the most peaceful site we have ever stayed on. We had the most relaxing stay on this lovely site. The amenities are basic but adequate. The scenery is beautiful and there are lots of wonderful walking in the area. The village is so quaint with some amazing houses. The shop is well stocked and the pub does lovely food. The pub has strict opening times (12-2 and 6- whenever!) with a no dog inside policy. This site is really worth a visit if you are looking to recharge your batteries and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside........lovely!

Wonderful quiet, peaceful site

The Village Field
As the title of our review suggests, we really appreciated the peace and tranquillity of this lovely site. All you could hear were birds, horses, cyclists and the occasional car! We wanted to walk and cycle and Norwell is well placed for both. Norwell itself is a lovely village with interesting houses and a shop as well as a pub.

Just what CL should be

The Village Field
We booked at the last minute as we just wanted to recharge our batteries with some peace and quiet not too far away. Norwell is a pretty Village with a well stocked shop and a pub that’s popular with the locals. You need to book for Saturday night, although the landlord did manage to squeeze us in. The site is spacious and very peaceful surrounded by fields. We walked from the site both days using OS maps and hardly saw a soul. Didn’t manage to meet the owner as he came whilst we were out but we left the money in the tin as instructed. If you don’t know Newark it’s worth a visit, especially the Civil War Museum.
