South Newington is a small village that lies approximately 7 miles (11km) north east of Chipping Norton and 6 miles (9km) south west of Banbury on the south bank of the River Swere (M40 9 miles). South Newington retains the character of a small, thriving rural village. Part of the village lies in a conservation area which was designated in 1989. The church is late Norman and is one of only fifteen churches in England to be dedicated to St Peter ad Vincula. The church has become famous for the well preserved wall paintings which are nationally important. The village offers a network of footpaths for walkers. Other amenities include a village garage, garden plant sales, a blacksmith, children's play area known as "The Poleaxe" including play equipment and a freehouse also offering meals.

Newton Grove is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful villages and historic towns of North Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. Numerous leisure and cultural activities are to be found in Chipping Norton, Banbury and further afield in Oxford, Warwick and Stratford. If you are a serious shopper you can take a trip to the popular Bicester Village. With easy access to the M40 you are only an hour from Birmingham and an hour and a half from London, so come and enjoy a beautiful tranquil piece countryside.

Excellent CL

Newton Grove
We have just returned from this beautiful site and I can honestly say it’s probably the best CL we have ever stayed on, despite being off the grid the owner John has gone out of his way to make this accessible to everybody with solar charging points and even toilet fluid for those who have left theirs at home, fire pits at various points around the site which are filled with logs. We were met by John and made very welcome and he even gave us extension pipes for our waste water to go straight into the woods. Grass is very short and no grass clippings, so a nice clean caravan. We will certainly be returning to this beautiful peaceful well kept site. Thank you John

Newton Grove
Absolutely loved this place. Plenty of room to keep a sociable distance, but also maintain privacy, and have a really peaceful, enjoyable stay. Lots of information is provided about everything that may cross your mind, and plenty of little touches are present that may not have cost that much, but actually they make all the difference. 10/10 for the mowing too!! It was exactly what we were looking for and we will be back for sure. Please dont change it, and keep up the good work.

Great CL

Newton Grove
Our first visit to Newton Grove and we will definitely return when we are next in the area. A beautifully maintained spacious site with plenty of room available for pitching. The off grid caused us no problems, but as previous reviewers have mentioned there is a portable solar battery unit on site should you need it. There is lots of information on site, and the email with arrival details and all the current Covid safety guidelines is helpful and informative. Lots of lovely walks from the site which is great with the dog, and a good pub within walking distance which serves great food. Thanks to John for a good stay.

Newton Grove
lovely site, grass better than some lawns, slightly sloping but ample blocks provided and because of slope drains well we were on hardstanding in motorhome but would have been confident on grass. We were several days and did not miss EHU though owner provides solar panel if required. The waste disposal is at the top of the field and is very well designed and easy to use. Picnic tables and fire pits a nice touch for balmy evenings. John santises taps etc on a daily basis

Great off grid CL

Newton Grove
Large field with 2 hardstandings. Slightly sloping. All facilities well labelled and maintained including 2 portable solar panel battery chargers, one fitted with an inverter for charging small 240v AC items. Top and bottom of field have short dog walks through woodland. Recommended!
