Why stay here ...

Welcome to Northfield Farm Caravan Site. The CL is a private and rural 2 acre site situated on a working farm, yet is only 6 miles from the centre of Oxford.  The site has the River Cherwell running alongside on one edge with hedges around the rest of the field to provide shelter. Beyond the site there are open fields belonging to the Farm.

The site is a lovely location for a relaxing break, visits to the 'City of the Dreaming Spires' or historical Blenheim Palace. The site is regularly mown with three electric boxes around the site (4 Electric points on two and 2 Electric points on one) to enable visitors to choose where they would like to pitch within the whole field.

There is an area of grassed hardstanding should visitors require it.

Dogs are welcome on leads on the site, however we do ask that visitors are considerate of others and ensure they clear up after their dogs.

The river and fields surrounding the site provide an abundance and variety of wildlife. At the far end of the site there is direct access onto a bridleway either to Islip, 0.5 mile (through a ford ankle to knee deep) or towards Oxford, 4.5miles. Or, as an alternative, a shorter circular walk of approximately 1 mile around the farm.

The CL is situated on a working arable and livestock farm, so at times, you will see and hear some of the machinery at work, however, we do take into consideration visitors on the site to ensure they have an enjoyable stay.

We are approximately 2 miles from the local village of Kidlington (reportedly the largest village in England) which has many local amenities.  You can also catch a local bus (1.5 miles) or Park and Ride (2.5 miles) into Oxford. There is also a newly opened railway station, Oxford Parkway (Chiltern Line), which can take you to the Bicester Village Retail outlet in 20 minutes or directly into London Marylebone in just under 1 hour. The line runs near to the site on new quiet rails.

There are plenty of areas to explore in the locality, beautiful villages and historic towns within Oxfordshire and the nearby Cotswolds.

Advanced booking required and Gas is available to purchase. Payment can be made by cheque, cash or BACS on arrival.  Deposits will be required to secure your booking.

We look forward to welcoming you to our site.

Not my favourite

Northfield Farm
Visited this CL with my young family. Chemical waste was an open drain, not very hygienic, could have had a tool to lift the grate which would make it easier. Access to drinking water was a long walk away, it was also out of order for our stay which was not ideal. Could hear lots of road noise and the trains were very regular. Not the peaceful CL you would expect when looking on a map! Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Could be better

Northfield Farm
The farm is easy to find and then you wonder where to go, small CAMC signs about but not pointing which way to go .When you get to farm yard you take the track to the left which takes you into a large field where you can chose anywhere to stop .Waste disposal and non drinking water and bins all sited together but couldn't find a drinking watèr tap .Grass had been cut but not picked up and as it was wet it stuck to your footwear and got walked into motorhome. Also at £25 a night a bit expensive for what you get. Trains run by about every 30 mins but never heard any through the night so never bothered us. Ok site if you have dogs as field is big ( could fit 50 plots )

Interesting sute

Northfield Farm
Easy to find and about a mile from public road on excellent farm road. Never met the owners during our 3 night stay. Site fairly level with good choice of pitches, adj river and railway other side which runs day and night but acceptable. However the foul disposal is an open drain and hence significant fly presence so avoid hook ups adjacent. Cost 18.00 per night inc electric so reasonable. Cannot understand one comment about road noise- some considerable distance from A34 and it could not be heard. However the approach road seems to have signs to an area quite close to the road and you need to follow the road to its end at the actual farm. Could improve signage

Lovely Rural Site

Northfield Farm
This is a delightful, peaceful site on a working farm. They have instigated a system of booking online and not calling at the farmhouse to be Covid safe. The field is flat, the grass is cut and the river runs alongside. There is very pleasant and easy walking from the site. It is well off the road but with easy signs to follow. It is true that the railway runs close on the other side of the river but it doesn't run at night and we didn't find it at all obtrusive. We would thoroughly recommend this site which is close to the very large Oxford Parkway Park and Ride, with parking available for campervans, which is an easy way to access the city center.

Rude

Northfield Farm
We stopped to find the owners on arrival and my husband went to find someone. Whilst he was doing that I was approached on 2 sides barking - CAN I HELP YOU! I assume they were the owners as they did not introduce themselves. I explained who were and the dates of our booking only to be chastised for not seeing the tiny sign for the site and arriving on the wrong day when we had emailed proof of our booking! Never have I ever been greeted in such a rude way. The site is not as portrayed on pictures and awful, fox poo everywhere, you can't see the river and a train flying past every 20 minutes, so close that you can see the passenger's faces! NEVER AGAIN and we left early!!!
