Why stay here ...

Stephen & I have been touring together for many years with our dogs, we enjoy very basic sites that are quiet and peaceful, and this is the theme we have tried to create for you with our ‘off-grid’ CL.

Whilst our driveway may look a little tight, once past the bungalow it soon opens to our closed cut grass pitches. The CL is within a fenced and gated area on the edge of the village offering security and privacy in equal measures.

The basics are catered for with fresh water, chemical waste, general waste and recycling all within easy reach of the pitches. There is a shop, pub and two bus stops within a 5 minute walk. With two more pubs and shops within the village. There are many walking and cycling routes on the doorstep. You can leave you vehicle and catch a bus to Witney, Oxford, Burford, Cheltenham and many more places.

You can watch village cricket or football by the river, with a licenced bar in the sports pavilion and visit the ruins of Minster Lovell Hall all within a 15 minute walk. Ideally situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, there are so many places to visit that we have a separate page on our website to list them.

Amenities on site: General waste, recycling, chemical waste, fresh drinking water. Note- there are no electric hook ups.

Dog walk: Turn right from the entrance and walk a short distance to the field gate on the right.

Local amenities: Shop, pub and bus stops within a 5 minute walk.

Facilities on site ...

We loved this site. We felt part of the family from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful site for dogs too. We will definitely return again soon.

We arrived at the site early evening and received a very friendly welcome before starting our long weekend. The site is accessed through a narrow driveway but we have a large twin axle outfit and had no problem getting in or out. Our friends, whom we met there, have an 8ft wide van and also had no problems so don’t be put off, just be careful. The only small criticism is that the CAMC sign is not all that visible on the approach so go slowly. The site is grass but nice and flat and, although basic, what is there is first class. It is on the main Witney to Burford B road but the pitches are set well back from the road behind the houses and so there is very little road noise. Minster Lovell is a typical and beautiful English village with a couple of pubs, churches, sports ground and with the addition of a grade 1 listed church and remains of the old Minster Lovell hall, lots to see and enjoy. Almost directly outside the site is a bus stop with buses going to Witney and Burford which are both well worth a visit. The White Hart pub is a five minute walk and served a lovely Sunday roast. There is the Horse and Radish and the Old Swan and Mill hotel a little further away but we will have to try those next time we visit. Highly recommended for those who do not need EHU.
