What a fantastic CL

West Ley Farm
Well, what can I say, this basic little* CL is a jewel. Perfectly located for Exemoor exploration, walking, and relaxing. When I sat little, I don’t mean that. 3 1/2 acres for 5 vans is a luxury we rarely find. Couple that with great views, lovely outlook and total peace and quiet, just perfect. Friendly and welcoming owners too, who took good care of recycling and visited regularly to make sure all was well. As reported by others this summer the grass was long when we arrived, but was cut and baled while we were there. This is a working farm and all the better for it too. Who needs more facilities than this site offers? Had there been electric it would have seriously restricted where everyone could pitch and here, choosing your view was just part of the joy. This was a welcome 8 night stay reminding us of simpler times and our rallying point roots. We will be back …. And did I mention that Exebridge, a mile and a quarter away on foot, off major roads, has 2 excellent pubs, a cafe and shop. Just perfect

Oh that Long, Long grass!

West Ley Farm
This site in many ways is an absolute delight, however, as the grass hasn't been cut at all this year (July), wellies were essential, added to which is the fact that for dog owners like us, a tic combe and tic extraction tool was an essential piece of kit! Walking from the site was good which made exercising our 3 spaniels an easy task to undertake. One of the nicest aspects of the site was that we spent ages watching the red deer strolling carelessly across the surrounding countryside through our binnococulars. One very poor aspect of the site was the exceptionally basic waste disposal facilities and as for the foul waste disposal point, it has to be the foulest smelling one I have ever used anywhere!! But despite all this, we both loved the site and will be returning again as it is what caravanning and motorhomeing should surely be all about, back to basics, no frills and at a very affordable price, however it is totally unkempt and in oh so many ways. all the better for it.

This is what motorhomes and caravanning should be about. No pressure,no worries, just get on and enjoy life!!Free range eggs just down from field near Rita's house!! Excellent

Peaceful, no frills site

West Ley Farm
Called in on chance as we were touring Exmoor, if you like quiet, peaceful, basic sites this is a must. The site is basically a meadow field with water, CDP , rubbish and recycling but is very large so plenty of room, although the site is all grass we found no problems getting our Moho flat. When night fell it was very, very dark so great for star gazing Owners very helpful - would use again if in the area, would recommend.

A nice basic CL

West Ley Farm
The site was very easy to find and the area as part of the National Park was really beautiful but there is no view from the site. There was some road noise so don't set up against the road hedge if you want a quiet time. The tap and waste disposal was adequate. When we arrived ( we are farmers ourselves) my husband was very reluctant to drive across a field that was ready for silaging in other words the grass was very long. After 6 days we eventually found someone to say we had arrived and to be able to pay before we left the next day, to be fair the owner had had a serious car accident a short time before but a notice on the gate would have been a help. We would stay again but then we are more than happy with a basic site.
