Why stay here ...

After what has been a steep learning curve, we are excited to welcome you to our CL site located on our working farm in Tanworth in Arden. The site is a 1.5 acre field with picnic benches, electric hookups, full sized sink, toilet and shower facilities and also a fire pit available to hire. We are in the enviable position of being in one of the most picturesque villages in Warwickshire yet only 10 minutes away from junctions 3 & 4 of the M42, so ideal if you need to be near the NEC. We are also within walking distance, through the fields, to one train station and a 3 minute drive to another (both have free parking). The trains go every hour directly into Stratford upon Avon, which obviously has a whole host of attractions to keep people entertained, and Birmingham city centre, where you are pretty much dropped at the door of the Bull Ring shopping centre.

There are National Trust properties on the doorstep and historic Warwick and its castle a 30 minute drive away. There are 2 pubs, again in walking distance, both serving delicious food & drinks. The Bell is situated in the heart of the village, on the village green and is overlooked by the impressive St Mary Magdalene church which dates mainly to the medieval period and contains stunning stained glass windows. It is also the final resting place of famous singer songwriter, Nick Drake, and British Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, Mike Hailwood. Should you need provisions, there is a good sized Co-op 5 minutes away and most major supermarkets are within a 10 minute drive as is a Calor gas provider. Broad Lane Leisure who supply all types of caravan, motorhome and awning accessories are 9 miles away.

We are also delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to purchase our own free range eggs and sausages & bacon from our Gloucester Old Spot pigs, a perfect way to start the day!

Dogs are welcome on site but as we are a working farm request that they are kept on a lead amongst the livestock. There are plenty of footpaths locally and you are able to access some straight from the farm. Depending on work load we are also able to offer farm tours and there are plenty of lambs being born during the Easter holidays.

Tranquil and friendly

Brookhouse Farm
As said previously this is an enormous site with grass pitches and EHU sited around the edges of the field. As per site details it’s slightly sloping in areas but that’s wasn’t an issue for us. We arrived on a wet day and set up near the facilities which were clean and convenient. We had a very friendly welcome from Andrew who was happy for us to call him if we had a problem. The views are gorgeous - the tranquility only disturbed by the occasional train - as we were a little set back facing the line we had a great view as they passed. Booked in for 3 nights - sadly had to leave a day early due to the shear volume of non stop rainfall which made pulling the van off the site an impossible task for our car. Apparently the worst rainfall in 25! Andrew was absolutely superb and came to our rescue pulling our caravan out of the field with his tractor. We would definitely return here but perhaps s little earlier in the season. We were visiting the NEC mMotorhome and Caravan show and the site is ideally situated.

Very basic

Brookhouse Farm
This is an enormous field which is a positive. However, the grass is covered in grass cuttings which get everywhere and are most annoying following rain or a heavy dew. The facilities are poorly maintained -they weren't cleaned at all whilst we were there. We were woken at 6 am by the Farmers dog barking at us and rummaging through our bin. At no time did we see the owners-the offer of being able to purchase eggs and sausages was non existent and the signs warning us not to go to the farm because of a dog that might nip your ankles were most unpleasant

Lovely little site

Brookhouse Farm
This is a lovely little site. Just turn up and pitch where you please. I think the entrance must have been improved because we were able to get well off the road to unlock the gate. The facilities are very clean and there is info on train times and the walking route to one of the local pubs. Tanworth is a lovely village with a good pub within walking distance. Although there is a train line nearby this isn’t too noisy and didn’t bother us at all. This is a CL site as one should be and we would definitely stay again if in the area.

Lovely site, even in the rain!

Brookhouse Farm
We were visiting the NEC to go to the Caravan and Motorhome Show, with the site being perfect situated for that purpose. We had travelled down from York through torrential rain and arrived just as the rain started to ease off, fortunately. The site is all grass on a sloping site, although it was quite easy to level our caravan particularly with large pieces of wood provided in a pile on the side of the field. As it was late October and it had been raining on and off for a couple of weeks, the grass was a little long, but of course it only became noticeable because the field was very, very wet. There are two toilets and a shower (on a meter) in the very clean and tidy, although open, toilet block, but when you consider this is a CL the facilities are excellent. I read a sign suggesting that home grown sausages and eggs were available, but as we were staying for such a short time, we missed out on that opportunity. The toilet block and area is where the grey waste disposal, Elsan waste, and waste bins are placed. The roads to and from the site are quite narrow, so care needs to be taken, but I have read a review commenting on the access to the site with concerns about holding up traffic on the road, it's possible that Kate and Andrew have made some adjustments but we certainly didn't have any problems. The exit is a bit more complicated as you have to leave the site down a gentle slope, and if solo you just have to make a very sharp left turn, with a small reverse, to make the turn as you almost turn back on yourself. When leaving with the caravan you have to drive into the farmyard, turn towards the house and then reverse the caravan into the yard and then drive out, it really is simple, loads of space and the only distraction for us were the sweet little Gloucester Old Spot piglets in their pen! This is a fabulous site that we will be using again.

This site is the reason why we bought a motorhome

Brookhouse Farm
Having had our motorhome for a few years we were not enjoying most of the normal larger sites that we had previously visited as they we a bit regimented. This site however was everything we used to dream of. Setting is perfect, easy to find, walking distance to a train station into Birmingham and Stratford, good pubs within walking distance, tranquil and with hosts that were very welcoming without being intrusive. We will certainly be back
