Why stay here ...

Welcome to Knowle Donkey Sanctuary CL on Seven Acre Farm, conveniently located in the West Midlands, within easy reach of the NEC, Knowle, Solihull, Warwick, Kenilworth and Stratford Upon Avon. Less than 3 miles from junction 5 of the M42, and only 10 miles from junction 15 of the M40. Turn in directly off the A4141 between Knowle and Warwick, onto our newly opened site. Dorridge train station is within 3 miles serving Birmingham Moor Street, Stratford and Leamington. Hampton in Arden train station is less than 5 miles serving Birmingham International, Birmingham New Street, Coventry and London.

We have 15m x 12m pitches combining hard-standing and grass positioned to the edge of our farm with views extending across the field. In good weather, these are sunny all day, and you can observe our donkeys. There is an allocated dog run, and you can visit the donkey sanctuary. We also keep bees. Free range eggs and honey are for sale.

Facilities are under development; currently there is water, elsan waste, recycling and visitor information. We are planning electric and water hook ups.

Local amenities include the Kings Arms pub with restaurant and rooms (4 minute paved walk). Access to the Birmingham canal is adjacent to the pub, and from there you can walk towards Knowle (1 mile) or the Black Buoy Pub (10 minute walk from campsite, serving food). The Orange Tree is another local country dining pub. A multitude of public footpaths give access to the countryside.

Knowle is the closest shopping area with boutiques, cafes and restaurants. It is approximately 20 minutes on footpaths, only 1 minute in the car. Tescos is in Knowle and Sainsburys in Dorridge (2 miles away). Solihull is 4 miles away and has Morrisons, high street chainstores and John Lewis, plus eateries. The bus service takes you from Knowle to Warwick in one direction and Solihull in the other. If visiting exhibitions at the NEC or Resorts World, you can easily travel there without having to use the motorway. Local taxis are available if you don’t want to drive.

Visitor attractions include the National Trust properties of Baddesley Clinton (2 miles) and Packington House (5 miles). Warwick, within 8 miles, has the famous Warwick Castle. Kenilworth Castle is also worth a visit (6 miles). Stratford upon Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, is 15 miles. Hatton flight of 21 locks on the Grand Union Canal is a short drive, or a 2 hour canalside walk. Hatton Country World has a farm park and craft centre.

Please note, this is a brand new site and we will do our utmost to reduce any disturbance to visitors whilst further developing the facilities. Also, there is some daytime traffic noise from the A4141 at peak times.

A Lovely Find

Knowle Donkey Sanctuary
A warm welcome and spacious pitches await at Knowle Donkey Sanctuary. Although still 'work in progress' the owner has thought hard about visitors needs. The large hard standing pitches also have an area of grass each. The site is very clean and tidy and a dog run is available. The donkeys are a delight. We happened to have booked in the weekend of the Sanctury's first ever Fun Day. It was well organised and good fun. We will be back to visit this lovely C.L. again.
