Peaceful Location

Burstye Farm
A warm and friendly greeting from Mrs Knowles who directed us past the farmhouse onto the CL site. Nice sized gently sloping field with only 2 other units in situ when we arrived so plenty of space to select our spot. Toilet with Water refill point inside the same outhouse building at the top of the field with dustbins (landfill and recycling) nearby, and a chemical emptying point in the bottom corner of the field. Nice public footpath walk around the outside of the farm. Handy for South Of England Showground, as well as the quaint village of Lindfield, Ardingly and Haywards Heath. Yes the access road is not the best but no problems with our caravan taking it slowly, and would not deter us from visiting again.

Peaceful site in a great location.

Burstye Farm
We stayed here for the Easter holiday weekend. It was the perfect antidote to the normal busy, crowded bank holiday weekend. It’s a ‘simple’ off grid CL but the facilities are all well kept and there is the bonus of a toilet. Like everyone has said we had a warm, knowledgable welcome from Mrs Knowles and there was also plenty of information available for visitors. The site itself is well kept, scenic and peaceful but in very easy reach of both Ardingly and Lindfield. There are excellent walks direct from site and the South of England Showground, Wakehurst (now dog friendly) as well as many National Trust properties and the Bluebell railway are in easy reach. The single track road up to the farm is bumpy but did not cause us any problems. We are local but this peaceful site with so much around it will bring us back very soon!

Peaceful, relaxing site

Burstye Farm
Following a very warm welcome from Mrs Knowles, we were directed to the field and could pitch wherever we liked. We chose this site as we were visiting friends and family in East Grinstead, Forest Row and Haywards Heath so the location was ideal. It is very peaceful and relaxing with excellent walks in lovely countryside from site with a multitude of footpaths criss crossing the local area. As a previous review said, once you leave the main road the road to Burstye Farm is a bit unyielding but it would not put us off returning. A definite 'get away from it all' site.

A peaceful haven for a couple of very hot nights

Burstye Farm
I Stayed here on the nights of the 18th and 19th July when the temperatures reached over 40 in my motorhome. There is a bit of an unyielding road up from the B2028 but I may have felt it worse because my van is quite light at the back and tends to spring over bumps! The site directions are spot on and Ann Knowles was very welcoming and told me where everything was. The site has basic services of water, sewage disposal and a clean toilet and once in the field you are free to park where you like. It is a fairly large field with plenty of room but does have a slop with flattish areas both at the bottom and the top. I used my ramps with no problem. I have a well behaved dog who was welcomed and, as there was only one other part-time camper, she was free to roam. I did pick up after her and the site was clean of others too. The joy about this campsite at this particular time was the line of very tall oak trees to the south of the site. I was able to park along side these and take cover under their shade. There are many footpaths leading from and around the site and, although I didn't because of the heat, it would be easily possible to walk to Ardingly Reservoir. I chose to walk in the local woodland at 5am! There are plenty of supermarkets and pubs around within easy access. In all a really peaceful site, situated and presented very well indeed. Thank you Ann. Sue & Tenby

Top Notch weekend in mid-Sussex!

Burstye Farm
Warm friendly welcome from the owner Mrs Knowles who was very helpful regarding walking and cycling in the area. Lovely peaceful site, we woke to faint sound of Church bells in the distance on Sunday morning which was nice and walked the permissive path that Mrs Knowles had shown us on the map. The B-road is busy with fast traffic but there are good pubs in either direction, either Ardingly or Lindfield. This site has a toilet and recycling bin, no other fancy facilities, just countryside, rare-breed sheep and relaxation. Really enjoyed our stay and plan to go back. The Bluebell railway is a short drive and worth visiting.
