Halifax Certificated Locations

Located in the Borough of Calderdale in the English county of West Yorkshire, Halifax is a minster town with a strong industrial heritage.

Indeed, it offers one of the most complete Victorian townscapes in the country, making for some beautiful architecture and excellent opportunities to check out historic buildings.

However, Halifax isn't just about the past and has a Purple Flag award to reflect the fact that it offers fun experiences for all ages.

For kids, there's Eureka! The National Children's Museum, while mums might enjoy browsing Harveys, one of the oldest independent department stores in Britain, and high street names in the Woolshops centre.

Other Halifax highlights include Shibden Hall and Estate and Wainhouse Tower, which visitors can climb inside for excellent views - provided they don't mind its 77-metre height.

Some fantastic restaurants, pubs and cafes will round off your trip and make Halifax well worth heading to on your next British break.
