Why stay here ...

Alan and Cath look forward to giving you a warm welcome to Plas Carw. The CL is located in the hills just behind Abergele just off the main road between towards Llanrwst. The site has well cut grass in a very pleasant spot. Adjacent to the CL is a fenced off area with a pond full of carp and other beautiful fish, grass and picnic benches. This area is ideal for afternoon sandwiches and a glass of wine as you relax around the pool. For the safety of children this area is fenced off, lifebelts are in position in case of an emergency.

A short drive will take you to the town of Abergele which is midway between Rhyl and Llandudno. This part of the coast is ideal for families as the children can play on the beaches and play sports to burn off the excess energy.

For shopping, Llandudno is difficult to beat. The classic architecture of the town, the Great Orme and the old tramway make this an ideal day out.

In the opposite direction, Llanrwst, and Betws Y Coed lead you into the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. Alan and Cath will be more than happy to provide you with information on walks, cycle rides and on tourist attractions within the area.

On site fishing

The site contains a very pretty ornamental small lake with koi, carp and goldfish in abundance, the owner allowed fishing on site from the start of 2017 for a small fee. Due to a few inconciderate fishermen and dead fish found after they left fishing has now been BANNED until further notice, the owner will supply pellets to sit and feed them and enjoy looking at them only.

Report

The CL is located in the welsh hills with easy access off the main road, between Abergele and Llanfair TH, and feeling very rural. The site is maintained to a very high standard with 5 electric hook ups surrounded by mature hedge rows in a very pleasant and private corner of the property. Adjacent to the CL is a very large koi pond, with grass and picnic benches. This area is ideal for afternoon sandwiches and a glass of wine as you relax around the pool. Feeding the owners pets with bread is highly recommended. The site also has a tennis court with equipment to use free of charge. Please be aware that the TV signal is quite poor and a satellite system is highly recommended,The owners have two spare kits to hire just in case. It is recommended that you use Vodafone for your mobile and ask the owners for the Wi-Fi password for access nr the house. The onsite toilet is located towards the owners house with a shower facility being built in late summer 2016. A little gem just outside of Abergele Town

'Could do better'

We arrived on site at the time agreed with the owner, but there was no-one at home, so we pitched and had to visit the house 5 times over 2 days before finally finding someone to pay. We spent 5 days on site and didn't see a sign of anyone who lived there, so not very welcoming. As mentioned on other reviews, there is still no water point by the waste, just a couple of buckets for campers to fill and carry. The toilet is adequate but didn't appear to have been cleaned during the time we were there. There was no television or mobile phone reception (unsure if we just picked the wrong pitch). However, on the plus side, access was good, price was ok (£12 pn) and the site is very pretty, but could be vastly improved. Nice to have the free range chickens visiting.

Nice Little Secret

We stayed Easter weekend 2014. Really made up to find this little gem, if you like peace and tranquillity with nice wildlife opportunities you cant go wrong. Easy to find and access onto the site was good. The on site fishing lake was nice to sit round and feed the fish (might take up fishing!) Noticed the previous reviews said no chemical waist tap, which has now been installed. The toilet provided was clean and adequate. I've got a satellite dish, so had no problem with a signal, but next door said T.V aerial wasn't too good. Will definitely be going back again I'd recommend it.
