Why stay here ...

Pen Isa’r Glascoed Touring Site lies conveniently situated to the South of the A55 expressway occupying a rural location whilst providing great access to all that North Wales has to offer.

A small, tranquil, and friendly CL, the site stands within the grounds of Pen Isa’r, a Grade 11* listed fine Tudor farmhouse which dates 1570, formerly the dower house to Bodelwyddan Castle. The property remains unchanged and provided a backdrop of great character and steeped in history.

Being a Certificated Location is no stranger to Pen Isa’r, and caravaners have been enjoying the property from the early 1970’s. Following a change of ownership, the CL has now been reestablished, and we look forward to welcoming new guests.

Accessed down a private drive, the site provides a quiet, sheltered, rural position with views over open farmland, and the coast whilst being extremely convenient for the larger settlements of St Asaph and Abergele, both providing a good range of retail facilities.

Within close proximity lie a number of traditional country pubs and restaurants, golf, fishing on local lakes or the river Elwy and many more country pursuits. For those with the outdoors at heart, we are a short drive to the Clwydian Range and The National Park. The coast is approximately 6 miles distant, and the popular coastal resorts such as Conwy and Llandudno lie 13/14 miles, respectively. For those wishing to explore the beauty of The National Park, we lie only 17 miles from the popular town of Betws Y Coed. The historic city of Chester lies only 25 miles to the East.

Whether you are wishing to explore land or sea, Pen Isa’r provides and excellent base to start your holiday. In terms of our facilities, we offer fully serviced pitches to include water, electricity, and grey waste drains. The pitches are grass and generally level, preserving the natural environment and making for a more aesthetically pleasing view.

We appreciate that many guests may wish to bring their pets on holiday. We welcome up to two dogs per caravan, but kindly ask that they are kept on leads, or within the confinement of the site under strict supervision. We are a small working farm that keeps a variety of livestock. We have no wish for unplanned deadstock!

A site steeped in history and providing the perfect getaway to North Wales, Matt and Ali look forward to making you feel most welcome at Pen Isa’r.

Great CL in a great location

Pen Isa'r Glascoed
Ali and Matt could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. I felt like I was part of the family. Ali helped me set the tourer up and made sure I had everything I needed. Their young son, Ted, even delivered eggs to me on a couple of occasions. That was an added bonus. The site is perfectly located in surroundings where there is much to do, from visiting beaches, castles and the countryside. I had a list of places I wanted to go and Matt very helpfully added a few more to my trip. I would definitely recommend a trip to Brenig, where Osprey can be found later in the year. The parking is very reasonably priced and the is a great walk around the reservoir. The visitor centre also serves up great coffee. Thanks Matt for that tip. This is a great area for dog owners. We were allowed on the beaches wherever we went, and some of the local river walks are great too. My dog came back exhausted every night. I thoroughly recommend this site, and I would like to thank Ali, Matt and Ted for making me so welcome. I will definitely be back.

A good addiction to the network .

Pen Isa'r Glascoed
This CL has been re-introduced to the network following a change of ownership. It is within easy reach of the North Wales Expressway (A55) and the delights of the North Wales coast. The grass surface is nicely mowed with clippings gathered up and even after heavy rain the surface remained firm. All pitches are fully serviced and electricity metered with payment on departure. All in all a nice peacefull site with a lovely welcome from Ali and her young son.
