Fantastic site, highly recommended

Warren CL
The perfect CL - a warm welcome, good facilities, nice pitch with stunning views. We loved the site and the area and will be back I'm sure! We were on Pitch 2 at the top of the site, the lower pitches are down a slope and might be trickier to get on and off. There is one hardstanding pitch, but doesn't enjoy the views of the grass pitches. The directions provided are spot on, but be aware that the final lane to the site is quite steep and narrow - there are a few passing places for cars, but once you've committed with the caravan you won't be able to give way to anyone! Fortunately we never met anyone on the lane all the time we were there, despite the Woodland Skills Centre being quite busy. Be warned that the directions provided from the A55 via Caerwys and Afonwen are good for arrivals but I wouldn't recommend this route for the return journey as there is a very long and steep hill into Afonwen. The A541 to Mold is an easy drive with a caravan though. To get anywhere along the coast take the A541 to St Asaph and after that everywhere is easy to access. Llandudno and Conwy are well worth a visit.

Welcoming

Warren CL
Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent television and Wi-Fi and one of the best sites for dog walking on site. We were there during storm Dudley and Eunice and were well protected by the surrounding hills and trees and only had 1 “wobble”. We had hoped to walk on Offas Dyke but all the footpaths had impassable stiles for the dogs and indeed, difficult for the ageing owners too. We had to walk off site on bridleways or country roads.

Outstanding

Warren CL
June 2020 Whilst the access is very steep and narrow and the site itself a little sloping, everything else about Warren CL is fabulous. Absolutely stunning views of woodland and rolling hills and all set on a beautiful organic site of orchards, meadow paths through woods and allotments. Endless dog-walking, total peace and no crowding too many caravans in. A very warm but not intrusive welcome from the owners. We recommend very highly.

Second weekend away after lockdown

Warren CL
Couldn't fault the welcome we got from Rod, the surroundings were amazing as stated in other reviews. We had no trouble finding it, directions were perfect. The road leading up to the site was very bumpy, damaged and narrow. Exiting back out on to the main road was also a bit dodgy as you're in between 2 bends and with fast moving traffic can be a bit tricky. The photo's of the site were a little misleading as it was very sloping with pitches 3 and 4 being tiered. We were on pitch 3 and had it not been for our motor mover we would have struggled to get out. We had to reverse the van in to the pitch which is dug in to the slope but reasonably level. No room for an awning (not that we would have used it anyway for the weekend). The access to pitches 3 and 4 could be difficult to get in or out of, depending on which way you decide to face. Once set up and settled in, it was great! I don't want to appear too critical but just to make others aware. No marker lights on site so you might need a torch to get to the bins/toilets. Shower facilities weren't open due to covid restrictions obviously, so can't comment on this. Overall, we thought it was good value for money and having got over the initial shock of the access road and layout, we would visit again.

Amazing Views and Ethos

Warren CL
This was a little bit of heaven on earth for us. The busiest site we had stayed on in our time away, (all five pitches taken) and yet so peaceful with so many places to walk with the dog, and so much to explore with the heritage orchard, arboretum, woodland (acres of steep welsh hillsides) without even leaving the site. The directions to the site were a bit difficult for us to follow (over descriptive possibly) and in my view no longer necessary as there is an excellent sign on the main road indicating the way to the Woodland Skills Centre, and all you need to do is follow it. The CL site is positioned next to the car park for the skills centre and there is a lot of activity here to keep one amused if, like us, you're not actually attending one of their courses. The views from the site were outstanding, the welcome was great, and the showers and toilets were well maintained. We would definitely go back.
