Garreg Wen CL site is set on a small working farm in the village of Penygroes, 7 miles South of Caernarfon and 13 miles North of Porthmadog. The touring site is set on a flat lawned field that offers ample space, it overlooks grazing land and offers spectacular views and sunsets towards Anglesey and Llanddwyn Island.
The site offers a perfect location to explore the surrounding area and provides easy access from the main highway. We are centrally located; the mountains of Snowdonia (and Snowdon), spectacular coastline and beaches of Pen Llyn, UNESCO world heritage sites (Carnarfon Castle and Slate Landscape) all are only within a few miles drive away.
You can be up a mountain or down on the beach in a meter of 10 minutes!
There are numerous walks and cycle routes from the site and village that includes Lon Eifion a traffic free cycle path which takes you all the way to Caernarfon and beyond.
We are located in the village, therefore within easy walking distance you will find a handful of shops, small supermarket, fish and chips, Turkish, Indian and Chinese takeaway. Cafes, bakery, two local delis, pub and farm shop.
Also, within walking distance you will find Pant Du Vineyard and Orchard, with cafe and bar on site.
The village is also well serviced by public transport links.
