Great site for touring the area

Swn-Y-Nant
We have recently spent 10 nights on this well maintained site. The size of the pitches are adequate for both caravan and awning. This is a perfect site for touring the area and there are plenty of walks from the site. The only minus point for this site is that it would benefit from its own shower and toilet block. The shared shower and there is only one is shared between 3 different caravan sites.

A Lovely Site

Swn-Y-Nant
Can't find anything wrong or bad to say about this site. It fulfilled our needs perfectly Access on the right hand side of the main road as you drive South, just past Abergwynant Hall sign. Down the winding road to the woods at the bottom of the paddock. Owners house adjacent. Hardstanding drive and pitches, well spaced, with grass between pitches. Some panic tables scattered around. Bins and Elsan in a small enclosure with main water nearby. WiFi is available at a rate of £1.50 per day payable with your pitch fee by Bank Transfer, details of which are on the notice board with wifi code. We used our own and mobile phone signal was fine. Site great for exploring the area. The old railway line is now a walking/cycling track accessed by going through a gate at the rear of the site. Turn left along the forest path if on bike and follow the stream for about 600 yards to the trail. If you turn right on the forest path you can climb up and over the top of the wood (about 100 metre high) following the orange trail and you reach the estuary and the trail. There's a pub about 2 kms up the trail near the toll bridge, George III. If you want to do some serious climbing then Cadair Idris is on the doorstep. (Other mountains are available). Also a good site to stay at for Mach Loop fans. The seaside town of Barmouth is 5 miles further south down the trail and small shops can be found in Dolgellau. There is a shower and toilet by the bridge on the way in. £1 for 7 minutes (hot water a bit temperamental). Not exclusive use. No drive over waste water grid and not sure about where the local bus stops, suspect near the entrance but check with the most genial owner, Mr.Rupert Jones. Certainly a place to return to.

Site of Tranquilly

Swn-Y-Nant
This is an amazing tranquil site, nestled in the hills with a stream running next to it, with plenty of walks available from the site. Everything is kept neat and tidy and very well maintained. Its an ideal base for exploring either on foot or by car. The owner was a fantastic host and very friendly with plenty of local advice. We will be back!

A real find.

Swn-Y-Nant
We recently stayed here for 1 night whilst passing through the area and wished it could have been longer. The site was very well kept and Rupert, the owner, was extremly welcoming with lots of advice about the local area. The outstanding feature was the setting..... absolutely stunning scenery with mountains, woods, river and the Mawddach trail on the doorstep. We will definitely return when we are next in the area. A Real Gem

Swn-Y-Nant
This was a real find. We stayed for a few nights in May and wanted a peaceful site close to the Mawddach Trail to cycle to Barmouth and Dolgellau. This delivered everything we wanted and was right on the Trail which was great for cycling or walking. Rupert was also super friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure you had everything you needed during your stay. He was probably the kindest and most pro-active host you could hope for! We had a wonderful stay and hopefully will be back to walk up Cadair Idris which we didn't manage on this trip.
