Why stay here ...

Abergwynant Farm is a working sheep farm and livery stables set amidst the outstanding scenery of the Snowdonia National park. Nestling in the foothills of Cader Idris and close to the Mawddach estuary this is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday in your caravan or motor home.

It is an ideal touring base for exploring North and Mid Wales. The popular beaches of Fairbourne and Barmouth are close by. Cyclists and walkers are well catered for with direct access to the Mawddach trail from the farm. Several of the Great Little Trains of Wales are within easy reach as well as the Coed-y-Brenin forest park.

The CL site is a lawned paddock accessed by a tarmac driveway from the main road. We have 5 pitches available for a caravan or motor home with an awning. There is an electric and TV hook-up available and we have our own filtered spring water supply. A toilet and shower block is available but please not these are located 200 yards from the main site. We have a laundry room available and a payphone. Dogs are welcome but we do ask they are kept on a lead whilst on the site and farm.

Beautiful and peaceful

Swn-Y-Nant
We stayed for 2 nights in July and were blown away with how beautiful this site is. With a little river, huge redwoods and a wonderful woodland to explore right from the site it felt perfect. There is a super pub just down the road, it is easy to get to the amazing wild coast and Barmouth is a great little seaside town. Walks of all levels are within easy reach. Eating dinner with amazing forest views backed by the sound of the river was wonderful.

Fantastic CL!

Swn-Y-Nant
What a gem of a CL Site! If you want a tranquil location with excellent facilities and good access to the many beautiful parts of Wales then this is it. Swn y Nant means “Sound of the Stream” and that’s what you get. Added to this you get birdsong, sounds of horses in the fields and hooting owls at night. I should mention that occasionally you have the sound of fast jets and other aircraft training in the hills and valley’s particularly at the “Mach Loop” near Machynlleth. For most this is not a problem and often a real bonus as you get to see aircraft up close and in some cases below you if you venture up to the top of the valley. Just search Mach loop on Google. A great site!

Wonderful site

Swn-Y-Nant
First time at this site and for sure not the last! Loved it for the peace, scenery and dog walks. Dogs loved it too. We have a disabled dog and she uses a stroller when she can't keep up with our other dogs and this was ideal - flat walks, easy for a stroller, easy for an elderly dog and plenty of those all important sniffs! Next time will will certainly be staying longer.

A warm welcome by Mr Jones the host together with guidance on the local area. Peaceful, beautiful and one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed.
